expect you to be about a 48%ish winrate, which is about a 50/50
coin toss rate once you factor in ties. The T29 is a pretty
critical tank for anchoring a flank when top tier and if you're
basically dishing out less damage than you take, you're somewhat
(but not massively) a liability to your team, especially if the
opposing team gets a good T29 player. It's the kind of tank
that is a difference maker. If you are seeking advice into
how to improve in that tank, you've got some great advice already.
I can chime in personally too, as I had really overwhelmingly
meh stats over all in the T29 (just slightly better then you, maybe
300dpg more, and just slightly higher winrate at 50%), but my
recents are more inline with where I expect to play these days,
pushing closer to 2k DPG and a much higher winrate. First,
positioning is everything. Your Hull is butter, but your
turret is god tier. You're not really fast enough to change
flanks, so make sure you choose well initially. If
you can't hull down, you can somewhat side scrape, but hull down
would be preferred. If you don't know good hull down
positions on maps, that is certainly where I would start. If
you don't know how to side scrape well, that's definitely another
area I would work on. When you are top tier in the t29 YOU
NEED to be on the front line. You need to be holding a flank,
if you sit back and leave it to others, you are failing your team,
hard. This is an anchor tank top tier if there ever was one.
If you aren't closest to the enemy, you're probably playing
it wrong. That said, if you are closest to the enemy AND are
alone, you're also playing it wrong. Then you are bottom
tier, while you still have decent armor, you can't rely on it.
So be sure to play less aggressively. It's ok to play
on the medium flank when bottom tier if needed. It's actually
useful to have a bottom tier equipment load out with say Turbo
instead of say, hardening, that makes you more flexible. Once
you can't rely on your armor anymore, you are no longer your teams
anchor. That said, the gun and ok turret armor (at tier 9
that is), means the T29 is still a very useful tank when bottom
tier, just it's up to others on your team to do the heavy lifting.
-------------- The other aspect here is the other
play you've linked the stats of. This person is MASSIVELY
over performing their actual performance level when it comes to
winrate. There are a few reasons this can happen... one is
luck. Even over a 1000 games, some people have a giant
horseshoe up their arses. Just as many of us have a cursed
tank where no matter how well we perform, we lose (hello Progetto).
More likely though there is something else to it. This
person may routinely platoon with a Unicum who is basically
carrying them. They may also harvest bots on SA server, but I
would really expect higher DPG results if so. So my money is
on platooning. ----- So basically TL;DR, you
are performing about where I would expect in a WR capacity, based
on how you are using the tank. The person you are linking is
massively overperforming. Basically they are the outlier, not
you. If you want to improve yourself, there's great advice in
this thread. If you want to know why others win more, welcome
to one of life's great mysteries...
1LT_Dwayne: If I have less dmg per game than him and less victory how do
you explain me having more xp per game than him? Because when you
lose you don't have double xp.
