Removing res mods folder or naming mods illegal won't change
that. This move would make things difficult for the players who
would like to enjoy fair and legal mods and hardly make any
difference for the cheaters. Some old time players would remember
that; before we had the res mods folder available in the game, we
already had mods working and players were using them by simply
replacing the game files with that mod files. Could we try to do
some other things like encrypting the game files or some other
solution etc.? Maybe, but I can tell you that, whatever you do,
cheaters will try to counter that and every possible action has its
pros and cons. We are confident about our capabilities to catch
cheaters and as you can see we are swinging the ban hammer harshly
on those who decided to play unfairly.
