Team Clash 2021: And the Winner Is…

Orzanel, on 08 February 2021 - 02:42 PM, said: Shame on you my friend.I grinded my [edited]off for this event and
boosters were on all the time.Shame on you.eekeeboo: And you did a fantastic job leading team business!
gunslingerXXX, on 08 February 2021 - 03:49 PM, said: Make 1 team anonymous/neutral/whatever with the chance to win
random commander with 3 skills. Then have 4 CCs which might win
4/3/2/1 skill depending on rank. Don't disclose point before
joining teams is closed. EZ.eekeeboo: This is essentially making the whole current system pointless and
leads more RNG into the system, which as you've said yourself, WoT
players love
Fiendix, on 08 February 2021 - 04:04 PM, said: What they could do to balance the teams is; 1) Once the
ability to manually choose a team has been closed, anybody who logs
into the game is automatically evenly distributed. This would at
least make each team equal in size. 2) From that point there should
be bigger bonuses (than the 17 possible points per day) to people
playing the normal game mode. They could also add special
boosters for the normal randoms like for the 7x7 teamclash for the
commander to initiate. Maybe mix that with cash boost to
incentivize people to play for a team specific goal in random.eekeeboo: Choosing teams closes at the weekend and the people who want to
take part will have already done so by then
The risk with bigger bonuses with
randoms is that people would then not play the 7v7 at all with
their favourite cc and again, circumventing one of the main
elements of the event
Jonny_M1, on 08 February 2021 - 04:11 PM, said: I was on Skill's team last year and it was a blast, most fun ever
in this game. He was really up for it, enthusiastic and had
his whole team working together, if you watched his stream or had
his commentary on in the background it was a super experience, I
was looking forward to this years event! This year was a bit
dire I found, on Daki's team this time and it seemed cruel, over at
the start. Seemed like I could do anything and still win
battles easily, like the opponents were just playing really
safe. I really just stuck it out this year until I got to
the prize rank. Very dull. Wish the teams could fight more equally
to the end to swing the outcome instead of grinding level ten and
just going back to Randoms. On a second account I chose
Orzy, it was a completely demoralising experience. There really was
no unity loads of arguing and negativity on the teams bordering on
toxic, really random and unsupportive behaviour. Suggestion
for the future is to give a handicap advantage to the straggling
teams, because once you're behind you stay behind. Team Orzy only
just made the level for unlocking the commander, seems a shame
after all the work that went into the voice recording etc.
I felt that team NewMulti had a great spirit in their team
and ran Circon very close. So much so that they got 2nd
place. Thanks to Awesome Epic Guys for the commander
voices video, Circon definitely had the best lines :-)
eekeeboo: Commander daki did an excellent hearts and minds recruitment
campaign at the start of TC and it paid off. The unfortunate part
of this is that many people are not experienced with 7v7 and can
sometimes need a positive experience or someone to lead them and
show them good behaviour in the mode. It's not always going to work
and the negative people can drown out the positivity but I do know
that on Team Orzy had some bad apples, but mostly people were very
fun and had a laugh, especially enjoying winning! We
looked into the catchup mechanic, but if we had it, we risked that
close Circon vs NewMulti battle being completely useless
non-existant. It's a fine line and you never know how it will go
until the event starts.
Dru_UK, on 08 February 2021 - 04:13 PM, said: My biggest issue with Team Clash was the T10 snobs - which
insulted the BB tank players - regardless of if they had T10 tanks
or not - there was an automatic assumption that if you are using a
rental tank you are rubbish player. I was on Team
Circon and had lots of hate thrown towards me for this very
reason - I used the 277BB and the Kranvagn BB as well as my AMX 105
and actually they were great After the game I would see that
the people throwing the hate were people were on
average 20-50K games with win rate of 48-50% and
therefore only acheived their T10 tanks by playing badly for a long
time. I actually had great fun playing and probably have
65-70% win rate for the games - I did not commit that much, played
only normal ammo and didn't run any premium consumables - i
made credits. Also it allowed my to train up 2 crews to
first skill for my next Russian Heavy Tank and my first Swedish
Heavy - for free Many times after the games some of
these haters would PM me and apologise - particularly If I had done
high damage or actually help win the game (that they clearly
watched) after they died early. Please don't be too quick to
judgeeekeeboo: Very sage advice, unfortunately some people take things far too
seriously and weren't conducive to good team spirit
Head_crusher, on 08 February 2021 - 04:43 PM, said: TBF last year I enjoyed the mode much more. This time some players
were trying too hard, shooting full gold and obviously not playing
just for fun.The decision to not include reward tanks was very good one, kudos for that.
If I may suggest something for next year's edition, I'd like to see limited number of gold rounds. More important suggestion is to hide the team score up until the last weekend, so players can make a choice based only on streamer preferences and not just jump on the bandwagon.
eekeeboo: While I appreciate this, be aware that people like me who went to a
second account to eekeebooster Team Orzy went full try hard to
carry teams and ensure level 10 was reached, it worked, but at
great credit expense
Hiding the team score is not very
helpful for people know how much they need to work at to be able to
ensure they get the commander for their team. Many people like for
team Multi and Circon looked at it and fought harder to put them in
second place. Less about the bandwagon and more about encouraging
the friendly competitiion.
edevjoe, on 08 February 2021 - 04:45 PM, said: WG , as a suggestion (someone who joined Daki without
checking who is 1st) to hide the scores until the "registration
period of yours end ie 4 days which u have put it. Then people
cannot join after registration period and then u can show the
scores of the team so it makes them to choose the person they
prefer rather than joining the person who is 1steekeeboo: Please read above. You can't see the points until after you join,
for the reasons above. But with the way social media is and the
event is as it is, there's no way to hide that info, because people
will share it regardless.
Aleo, on 08 February 2021 - 04:52 PM, said: The 7v7 format is fun, and great idea to lock some of the rental
tanks behind progression. I'd join in the crowd and say that the
teams were hugely unbalanced. Team registration should be locked
after the first two days. Boosters should not be locked to team
standing, and the latecomers could be dumped into a neutral team.
Oh, and it would be nice to know how many players were
registered on each team, and how many battles the different teams
did. eekeeboo: What about people who are busy for the first 2 days? And you vastly
limit who can take part or like myself who joined later to help
team orzy. 09:47 Added after 9 minute

PanzerPjotr, on 08 February 2021 - 06:34 PM, said: A lot of negativity again, can't understand why. The 7v7
format is a delight to play. Unlike in 15v15 the action is
immediate and usually there are no snipers lurking about. The only
annoying thing was players doing freaky tactics like driving all
the way around on maps like Lakeview to attack from the other side,
thus depriving the team of their firepower in town which often
meant a loss. Another annoying thing was players not understanding
which booster was on. For example, killing all opposition when the
boost was for winning by capping and so preventing the team to get
extra points. Reaching LVL 10 was a breeze, as my team was way
ahead I did not play beyond LVL 11. I choose Dakillzor for
one simple reason. I suspected he would be the popular choice, so
that would mean he would get the most players and first position,
as happened the first Team Clash when Skill4ltu won. I wanted
to pick Team Orzanel because I liked his soundbites the best but
eventually opted for the team that would give me a commander with
the highest number of perks. And that would be Dakillzor. And
therein lies the biggest flaw of Team Clash. It is not a clash of
teams to see who comes out on top based on skill and teamwork. It
is a popularity contest rewarding the CC who has the biggest fan or
follower base. Plain and simple. And I don't understand why the
ones responsible for this event allow it to work like this. It
would be the easiest thing in the world to make the ranking in this
event independent of the number of players in each team. A weighted
result reflecting the average skill or result. It shouldn't
take a rocket engineer to figure that out. Then it would be a Team
Clash where the best team wins. Lastly, I would appreciate a
meaningful overview of the statistics of this event such as number
of players/battles/etc per team. The item WG posted today
declaring that team Dakillzor had won was a fact know to us
almost from the beginning. Not very newsworthy to say the least.
eekeeboo: We have to post such known info, as you can see people still asked
here who won and when they will get their commander
ME_DERP_URANUS, on 08 February 2021 - 08:51 PM, said: I choose Orzanel. In the very first battle i got: 1. 5 bots in
team. 2. 50% (6 out 12) penn even if i shot only sides. Yeah, the
250 Penn of the WZ "event tank". 3. From the 6 penn, 2 were
"critical hit" with ZERO DMG, 4. Plinked them with HE, got top DMG
in team and 2nd Xp. 5. Got aimbot detracked half the time. Lost 3-7
(one kill mine) Conclusion? Game HEAVILY rigged in favor of P2W
players. I let them enjoy such "events".eekeeboo: I think you will find much innaccuracies in your post. I played
Team Orzy and carried hard, rng is rng and aiming is aiming.
Utilise both and you will win.
cru66, on 08 February 2021 - 09:38 PM, said: Never seen such a rigged event in all my life. I now see why
Quickybaby had no intention of being a team captain last year, he
saw how one sided it would have become. Allowing players to
join a team that is 3 million up on any other team is a complete
joke. Should have hidden who was top or bottom in the
rankings......It would of stopped players joining the team that was
winning. Allowing them to join the top team spoilt the event
totally.... So in all it was a complete waste of time and effort.
eekeeboo: Consider that people fight to improve the position their team is
in. Please understand the difference between "rigged" and the way
players behave when they want to win.
hennyjr, on 08 February 2021 - 09:39 PM, said: Team Clash is over again and to be honest WG. It was a total
disaster. I took Daki this year after i decided to go for Mailand
last year. I had more fun last year with the close battle with
dezgamez than I had this year with daki. there is too much wrong
with the event to be fun for a big part of the players. there is
definitely room for improving if this even comes back next year.
the things that should be get adressed are the follow.
no possibility to pick teams after the event has started. a
system in which the team with less players get compensated to keep
the CC close in the standings. better rewards after level 10.
now I will declare why these points should be improved.
It makes no sense that you can pick a team after the event
has started. now players are going to watch the CC streams to see
who is leading to decide who to pick because they want the best
commander. this creates only a larger disparity between the amount
of players a CC has in his team what means that the other CC are
out of the competition. and people will have to chose there most
favorite CC that way instead of getting the best commander at the
end. this gives also a lot of other problems like the fact that the
players who took CC on place #2, #3 or #4 play the majority of
there games against the CC who is on top. I have experienced that
myself last year. Right now when one CC has 10K players in
his team and the other 1K. the CC with 1K players has no chance to
be a competition for the CC with 10K players. people see that and
wont get motivated to put extra time in the event because they
don't get a better reward for it at the end. There should be a
system implemented that the CC with 1K players get a boost
regarding the points they get for the standing regards the CC's.
easiest way to do that is by giving the CC with 1K players a 10x
boost for each point the get. if the 10x boost is good, too much or
not enough has to be tested to create a fair competition.
after level 10 there is no point in playing the gamemode because
the rewards gets worse than they have been before. and it should be
the other way around. the higher you get the better the rewards. I
think level 10 for the commanders is good enough. but after that
there should be some better rewards. that way it is actually
worth to keep playing after level 10 than only 1 box for every
level you get higher. for example give for each odd number after
level 10 one box as a reward, and for each even number after level
10 you get 2 boxes. or some other rewards for all the levels after
stage 10. there are more than enough options to give away that is
worth playing for after level 10. eekeeboo: We added modifier bonus for team orzy as well as bonus missions for
more points in randoms. You found the experience this year, team
skill had last year. The aim of the event is not to just farm for
all the stuff you can get, it's meant ot be about supporting your
favourite streamer and get him as higher position you can. Or at
least take part and not have to play every day for the whole event
to get the rewards that "matter" to most people. You
cannot suppress popularity and if Daki goes and recruits everyone
he knows, then that will work. Points system is there to encourage
the placement and friendly competitive element. If you hide that,
you remove that and people complain they can't see what position
teams are in, if you have it shown even a little, people collude to
share the info and complain they have to do this instead of having
it in the game. In essence, you have to choose a lesser of two
evils that aligns with the event goal the
most. 09:55 Added after 17 minute
Badz360, on 08 February 2021 - 11:35 PM, said: I thought it was a good 'throwaway' event - Get credits, get tier X
crew experience, get bonds and other goodies and even the 4th
place team get a commander with zero-skill. I played it with
no food and shot 99% standard ammo, and I think the majority of
other players did similar, making it was a more pleasant
experience than full Tier X random matches where the gold spam is
real. It also made it a chance to actually earn good credits at
tier X (though aware that might not be the case if losing a large
majority of matches). In terms of the runaway victory - I
don't think it was a purely numbers game at the start, as I
don't think Daki had a significantly 'larger' following than any of
the others - however, with a lot of the clan wars type
choosing Daki, I think team Daki won the majority of their
games the first day which contributed to a healthy points lead -
which led to a snowball effect with a majority of latecomers
jumping on the Daki bandwagon. Day 1 for me was approx. 80-90%
victories, then went down (though still winning majority) as the
event progressed. I guess WG want the registrations to be
open after the event started as a large proportion of players only
see it in game client rather than checking the website, so my
suggestion would be have registrations open for less time - and no
team points shown until registration closes.Anyway - thanks WG - and of course the CC's who put in 12 hour days throughout. A little tweaking on the post-start team selection perhaps required - but remember everyone - even in last place, zero skill commander is good - even better if its one of your favourite streamers.
eekeeboo: I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope the content creators did too, I
know Daki had fun playing "Pump it up".
huncutkukucska, on 08 February 2021 - 11:38 PM, said: I think, making this a PVE event, where all four teams have to
fight against waves of AI controled tanks, would be a better
indicator of skill and dedication, than this so called disaster. My
other problem is that, this is supposed to be a gamemode for
everyone, even those, who don't have a tier 10 tank yet, which
is a good thing, however, how do you think new players will perform
in tier 10, when they only have tier 6-7 tanks and never even seen
tier 10 tanks. So, if the goal really is to make this for
everyone (and also enjoyable for everyone), then make this a tier 6
or 7 gamemode, because it just feels like throwing all the new and
inexperienced players into the deepest waters, before they even
learn to swim. All my other concerns have already been mentioned by
pretty much everyone, who wrote about these issues, so I'm not
going to.eekeeboo: This would be an entirely different event, with no compeitiveness
and turn it into just a hardcore grind. People are hit and miss on
AI
StahanoW, on 09 February 2021 - 05:08 AM, said: I skipped last years Team Clash, I took part in this year's Team
Clash event. I had some issues with the event.First big issue was the amount of hate and toxicity (even I was toxic in the end) in the battles. I mean okay, everybody wants to get their commanders, but some of the players was so mad.... it was insane. Spamming, racist slurs, insulting everyone in the team during in the battle... I met with a guy who played this gamemode like it was a tournament finals game... He insulted me all the way with his platoon mate, just because I didn't go into the middle of the map (where I could drown, because there was a lake). After the battle he statshamed me, because I played with a lot of Tier VI-V-IV tanks, calling me a bot. I'm not proud of what I wrote back to him.
Second issue was the AFK/Griefing players, who just ruined our game, not just one time. Even if it was not a competitive gamemode, why someone doing this? Whats the point?
Other than that, when we got a normally behaving team who were trying to play together, it was a real joy. I watched some of the competitors (Circon, Orzanel) on Twitch, they played all the time when they could play with this gamemode, even eekeboo and Skill tried to help Orzy's team to reach level 10, which was a real push (I knew there was others as well, sry if I excluded them, but I do not know who was them).
eekeeboo: We have systems in place to stop the afk people, some like me had
major issues with hardware
But I'm glad you enjoyed it and
noticed the boosting

I knew that beside Newmulti and Circon the other two are not
even competing for anything . Orzanel was always last even
though I saw him on Twitch everyday , streaming and trying and
Dakillzor was always first . And as you all can see , with almost
double the amount of points than the second team eekeeboo: This an inclusive event for that, it's not fair for people without
tier 10s to not be able to support their favourite
streamer.
