Only CW gold will make sure you'd be able to get useful premium tanks consistently.   People are not going to stop to go to the store for real money, the majority of players in this game are not good enough to earn high enough amounts of gold to buy everything they want "for free".   Dear old Steve is your main demographic and all Steve want's to do is drive his IS-7 and grind tanks he likes the look of. He will go to the real money store until the very end. ;)   Cobra 6

eekeeboo:   I remember a long time ago that one of the reasons for tanks not being in the tech tree was that people would just wait to use gold and buy it/save up etc and not buy it straight from the shop, especially with the combined economy with games like WoWP at time providing an over-lap of gold.    The demographics are as many people as possible, and the numbers and marketing will look at the money from a premium shop only tank and the tanks sold through the tech tree and will always try to keep some exclusive tanks or "rare" offer tanks as those moments to drive revenue, standard practice with targets and shortfall in any business and to drive further development.

eekeeboo:   That was part of the advent calendar gold options as a means to assess the effectiveness and allow people to use up their Christmas crate gold if needed. And while your wallet is closed, there is a chance that someone else wallet will open. I am aware of the desire not to spend money on a tank that's bundled when you already have a bazillion gold and more premium tanks than you can shake a stick at, the prospect of more gold isn't appealing. But at the same time, the aim is to sell as much as possible to as many people as possible. Instead of trying to sell you more things, when you've already bought the gold, try to make a package that's appealing to someone else. This is the part where people misinterpret squeezing for money instead of the goal of creating offers suitable for other types of players.

Well Wargaming just went full TRIPPLE AYYYYYY

eekeeboo:   I also know how much LoL has changed the tactics and items they sell in-game. You will notice a definite change in the things you can buy and how you can buy them to when the game first launched from beta.

The reality is you already have the money from people that bought gold ( or got it as part of a package ) and you are not interested in serving people whose money you already have. I completely understand that is how business works but it's very offputting for your loyal customers that are piling up more and more gold that they can't do anything with but sink it into premium time or free xp, which is becoming less and less useful as you progress the game.   To top it off you are giving away the premium currency for free just to show how worthless it really is and how there will be no plans to make it worthwhile.

eekeeboo:   If we charged that much for gold, people would then complain the price would be high and it's not fair. The second point is true and something i highlight in a response to another person, it can be offputting if you misinterpret the intention, it's not intended to be a slight but to not constantly get the same people to pay, businesses don't survive on those strategies.    The giving away of gold has been reduced dramatically over the years, with nerfed values from clan wars and during events, you will see WAY less gold being provided as a reward than say 3-5 years ago.  17:57 Added after 0 minutes
