Math behind Marks of Excellence

Дата: 03.09.2015 12:28:07
eekeeboo: The statement from within the game is:   "To obtain three marks of excellence dipalyed on the gun, the average damage caused by the player and average damage caused with the player's assistance must be higher than the results of 95% of players in this vehicle for the past 14 days."   Player's averager damage is updated after each battle. Only 100 recent battles are counted.  Obtained marks do not disappear even if the player's average damage decreases.  Marks can be Obtained in vehicles of Tiers V-X Display of Marks on your vehicles can be disabled in game settings Can be obtained in Random Battles only.    I have highlighted areas that tend to trip people up when trying to work out what's happening to their MoE rate and have even had extensive debates with people who think the stats are based against your full record in the vehicle against the full historical averages of the vehicle.    The key thing here is that as with any averaging/statistical normalisation, figures can be distorted with anomalous results (exceptionally good/bad games). It will only take 1 bad game of unluckiness getting guess shotted by a kv2 at the start of a game on himmelsdorf as you move out of spawn to drop your averages dramatically. If you are very unlucky then that game will then edge out a previous exceptional game from the 100 recent games criteria, this then affects the balancing and normalisation of your averages too. It also pays to make sure you keep track of your assisted damage also, and not just your damage done, this is the figure that can fluctuate greatly and can have a large impact on what your average MoE will be.
