The above is the only reason for this event the rest is just smoke and mirrors.
Players have been asking for freebie events or double xp events for weeks now, but will the devs listen? Maybe when all the servers have half the active players they have today.
When will WOT do something for free for it's community? when?
for what it's worth!
p.s. It's no wonder that many players have decided not to vote for WOT.
