But the "myth" of the powerfull T-34 gun was born in 1941, where the main part of the german tanks where Pzkw. II with 2cm, III with short 5cm, IV with short 7,5cm, 35 and 38(t) with 3,7cm guns. The L-11 was fare better than all of this guns and even when the gun optics weren´t as good as the german ones, they weren´t "bad"
The article doesn´t smash the myth by its origin, it try to relativise em with later facts.

TheKroo: Yes.
The high-velocity 76 mm gun was quite powerful and some of its psychological effects were shared to it by its cousin Ratsch-Bumm gun (76-mm-Division gun M1942 (ZiS-3) which was nicknamed as such due to very specific noise it produced when fired.
But this occurred rather early in the War during the Operation Barbarossa (1941). Later on the gun had lost its psychological effect it had in the initial outskirts of the conflict.
