Falsely accused of TeamKiller - Abuse of the rule

This happened to me today, i was aiming with my vehicle an enemy, waiting my reload to happen, zoomed in with Shift! and when i pressed the fire a friendly tank stood in front of me to take the shot to the enemy! The friendly tank got destroyed from my shot! I was really pissed off for his/her stupidity not to mention my tank was destroyed right after from the enemy tank.
I wrote at team chat "how could you just run in front of me when you saw that i was aiming at an enemy? i was even Zoomed IN! I had no chance to see your move! This is not a frag game!" The team player didn't respond. I can't recall his nickname or even which vehicle i was using! I played about 50 games of WoT today (well at 26 April) and i play my IS-3 and my StugIII (for credits!).
I just logged in to play WoT and saw that my account was banned until 28 April 2011!! thats 1 day from NOW! This person who reported me ! reported me and abused the rule of Team Killing, Because I had no intention to do a team kill, it was obviously an accident and he made it happen, not me!
How can i protect myself from situations like this? Screenshot with "i am sorry"? if the other person doesn't reply or anything i won't be able to protect myself right? What this guy did was really annoying and has pissed me off! I am no brainless child of 10years old that likes to DEATHMATCH in WoT because i have psychological issues! I love the tactical side of this game !
So as final words, why do they trust a screenshot of WoT when things could be way different? How can anyone protect himself from a situation like this?
Oh man tomorrow no WoT :/ My wife's curse has appeared... (she said she hates this game )

If it was only a single teamkill and you got a temp ban, then that is silly. It happens from time to time, why ban a player for it?
