Tanitha: Wow how can so many people read something completely different into
the post. 
I thought he was suggesting arty's should blindly fire at the enemy base at the start of the game, To weaken enemy tanks with splash damage, and form a distraction for scouts that will be coming in soon. IE a form of cover fire.
It wouldn't be a viable situation in game IMO due to players liking their hit/miss ratio's, ammo being expensive and limited rounds.
It might be possible and done with the smaller arty's though who have cheaper ammo and more ammo.
