insults and moans

Tanitha: There is nothing that makes the last man surviving the better
player.
Its often the TD's that are camping the base that survive a while, especially if the other tanks are out there taking the battle to the enemy base, away from the TD's base, and away from the TD's, protecting the TD's and arty camping at our base from incoming tanks. of course its the offensive tanks that are killed first, but does that make them the worse players? no definitely not.
The scouts that go into their base, and do a great job of killing the enemy artillery, then dieing. They are usually the fist to die. Are they bad players for dieing? No definitely not, they killed the enemy artillery and set the game up for their team to win.
The best Russian player in the game who usually drives a IS7, has decided to now start leveling the German side. So hes in a stock standard low tier German tank, that gets one shotted 1/4 way into the game. Does that make them a bad player? no..
Often the people who last the longest are the ones cowering in the background or pointlessly hiding in a bush as far from combat as they can get. Other tanks who died probably wouldn't have if they had a bit of backup from the tanks that hid instead of fought. Does that make the tank hiding in the bush the better player because they lasted longer? no..
The arty that survives all game, is that because they were good? no its because the tanks that defended them were good, and often tanks that died defending them.
The game starts... 1/2 the team push left and 1/2 the team push right. The enemy all push left.
So the right half get to cruise into a almost empty enemy base kill a few tanks and cap, and the left half run into the enemy outnumbered 2-1 hold them off while the other half cap and then they die. Were they bad players for going left and dieing? no..
Dont get me wrong, I don't like the backseat drivers (usually - see below), but to label a dead player "bad" I don't agree with either, and it is equally as wrong.

Tanitha: Of course the dead people are the ones that will
comment/chat/insult the most. They are the ones that are no longer
playing, So they can type. People who are still playing rarely have
time to type unless they are on auto move for a sec, or
camping/defending. Dead players are also the ones that are sitting
in your tank watching your every move. Alive players who are
playing usually don't notice what you are doing.
As I said, I don't support backseat driving, or insults.
But constructive criticism is ok, Like a arty who isn't moving after he fires, And the enemy artillery has seen his smoke trails and is taking snap shots at your arty. You obviously will tell the arty to move because hes been seen and is being shot at. Its still "backseat driving" but its done for the purpose of making the team win, and sometimes its needed.
As for "family insults" are you referring to the usual fad of "your mum" comments?
Mostly these are just in jest, friendly ribbing, jokes. now it might not be your kind of humor, and you might not find it funny. I don't, i find the your mum jokes pretty lame. But then again I'm 40+ now so... I think that's more for a younger generation thing. But the point is.. if you are going to go on the internet, and playing internet games with a very broad age group, with thousands of people from different religions, ethnic groups, sex's, backgrounds, views etc, you need to be a little more tolerant, and grow a thicker skin.
They are only words, why get so worked up over them that you feel the need to forum post a complaint over it?
Raise above it, and ignore it..
And.... Have fun.. that's what games are for, not to get worked up over silly things..
So Have fun..

Tanitha: Yeah pointless abuse is just that, pointless. Its not constructive,
in jest, or a joke..
But seriously after 3000+ games since the softwipe, I rarely see nasty pointless abuse in the chat. Mostly I just see friendly ribbing, or smart ass humorous remarks.
Edit** After reading Turvas's post below, it does remind me that it happens more than I remembered. I guess I don't really notice it much, because it doesn't really bother me. The more you play MMO's the more used to it you get. : )
