Few questions about matchmaking.
1a. When do we get MM update?
1b. Can you tell what kind of changes you have planned to do?
2. If bigger MM change is coming at Q2 2012 or later, could we have simple battle tier fix with 7.1?
I mean currently most heavy tanks can meet tier+4 opponents and mediums and TD's tier+3 opponents. Even with current system it can be very frustrating when you meet opponents you can't harm from any direction. If coming HE nerf (or readjusting, if we are politically correct) is as bad as people say in forums, then problem with too high tier opponents will get much worse as we can't even do those 2-5% HE shots for distraction.
Personally I would go for tier +-2, as that would mean that all tanks (not counting scouts or SPG's as they are special) in combat would be within 3 tiers and single tank would still meet tanks from 5 different tiers depending if you are top or bottom, so not too "dull". But shaving a little would still help, like reducing max opponents to +2 and +3 for heavies.
3. Is matchmaking of Type 59 working as intended?
For referee:
T5 light can meet anything
T6 heavy can meet anything except T8 arty
T7 medium and TD can meet anything except T8 arty
T8 medium can meet anything except T8 arty
T8 heavy and TD can meet anything.
And then we have Type 59, who will never meet T9 mediums, T10 heavies or T8 arty. It's as good a tank as any other T8 medium (some call it even OP, but I think that's mostly because MM) but get's "lighter" matchmaking than T6 heavies or T7 mediums.
This means that in most fight they are at top third, some time at middle third and very seldom at lowest third. And they never meet their natural nemesis T9 meds, so they are always faster and more mobile than opponent or atleast equally powerfull if they meet other T8 medium.
I know that some premiums need special matchmaking, as they are undergunned for their tier like KV-5 and Churchill, and would have problems with higher tier opponents. But Type 59 is as good as any other T8 medium, so it shouldn't get any special treatment (other than increased credit income and reduced repair cost as any other premium tank).
Thank you for your answers.
