EU Questions & Answers

View PostTrent, on 06 December 2011 - 01:36 AM, said: This is from "Making Your Tanks Premium. Discussion" post on the blog, but the question is about something else entirely:
I understand that the "balance purposes" means to slightly reduce amount of arty per battle, because players must choose non-SPG vehicle to farm credits with that option. So...
Q: I'm curious, why wasn't the same logic applied when you lowered the prices of tier 2-3 tanks?
Instead of lowering all of them, you could have lowered all - except SPG. I think new players make decisions about which line to go mostly at random (I know I did), then many of them just stick with the path they chosen initially. So having a bigger price on arty would prevent some of them from going that way. It would be much better, and non-artificial (in contrast to cap on arty numbers per team) way of reducing the usage of arty in the game.
It's not too late to revert the prices back, though :P (Slight increase in EXP needed to unlock arty from the Tier I vehicles would work, too.)
Disclaimer:
I'm saying all that as an avid SPG player, but on the other hand I perfectly understand the reasoning of players saying "too much arty at randoms is bad idea".
Thanks :Smile_honoring:

Overlord: There will be a number of changes relating to game economy that will especially affect SPGs, eg 10-25% decrease of credit income for tier 5-7 units in 7.0 and some others.
