Lower profile offers a lot of benefits. Smaller target, better slopes, better armor for less weight...
It's only drawbacks are cramped conditions for the (witch players can not experience for obvious reasons) and limited negative gun elevation due to limited space available for gun recoil inside the turret. This "feature" followed every Soviet/Russian tanks manufactured in the last 70 years.. .From IS3 do T-90. (I believe max. gun depression for T72/T64 is not bigger then -6 degrees)
You will find this in every history book that describes armored fighting vehicles. I know this game is more of an arcade then simulation, and understand the need to balance all vehicles in the same tier (and agree with it 100 %) put please, please, "play" with hit points, ROF, gun damage and other "virtual" characteristics... Just try to leave historical data untouched, especially if they are in conflict with common sense and reason like the gun depression nerf we've just experienced. A tank that is 3,2 meter tall MUST have a bigger gun depression then a tank that is 2,5 or 2,7 meter tall...

Overlord: Actually there were some issues with models as well, larger depression angles lead to guns going through the front hull armor. However gameplay impact is considerable, so will think it over once again.

Tiger -> much better
KT -> a bit better
JP -> significantly better
JT -> much better
Maus -> much better

10. Few questions bout the finalized 6.4 patch
a) reducing the gun depression of american tanks? why? dont you think that that change is making american tanks less exceptional at their strength, and making them more average thus decreasing the variety of the gameplay? the most bizarre is the T34 nerf as it uses the same turret as the T29 and T30 (or was the T34's depression better all the time)
b ) S-51 another rof nerf is fine (dont like it, but i can see what you are aiming for) as it's suposed to be the much more mobile platform for the 155/203 than SU-14 but why isn't there a bonus in acc to compensate for the painful ROF (no one wants to miss after that long reload)
c)If the patch is FINALIZED, why is there no date for the release, it could be tomorrow amrite? Or are you waiting for the Drill camp to end so you can release the patch?

6. Damaged gun accuracy depends on a gun original accuracy. Penalty in % are the same.
7. All I can say is we want to release lesser patches with more frequent intervals. We'd love to release a patch every month. Sometimes (all the time) things are not as one would like them to be.

a) According to statistics and observations american tanks were overpowered.

Are this decision based on testing, or were they some last minute changes? (I cant find any info on them in 0.6.4 preliminary patch notes or in 0.6.4 test patches notes)
I find this changes extremly harsh, especially in T34 case (considering his weak hull armor, compared to other tier IX heavies).
This change removes more than half of the hull down positions, because 4 degrees difference in gun depression is huge, as you can see in the following image:

Also Lowe has better view range and accurancy as far as I know!
Lowe has better ROF (2 sec. difference!) and MUCH MUCH MUCH better PEN (and PEN is most important!) but same DMG.
It is not fair to nerf this tank, it is now in good place with the statistics it has right now. Dmg nerf is not right, specially if other premium tank has much better other statistics including penetration!

And this puzzles me, u always gave the German guns higher penetration but for compensation US tanks got the higher damage (which is relevant while this means HE damage goes also down, US tanks against some Tier 9, 10 vehicles has no other choice then using HE)...
Wouldn't be better at least make the damage at least 340 so it would be more then German damage?
May be for T29, T32, T34 this is not so relevant but turret of M6A2E1 is not so un-penetrable as T29, T32 or T34 and with such huge profile and paper sides, it would be sitting duck...
