WG moderators in damage control mode, sweeping up Foch topics

Anyone notice that there's another thread on exactly the same topic which was replied to by MrConway, resulted in the re-opening of certain threads and was then closed at its OP's request because the situation had been resolved?   It's as though someone's taken a quick look at the first page of the forum and immediately hit the new thread button so that the world knows of his outrage while not paying the slightest bit of attention to what's actually happened. Which is a fairly good analogy for something else.
