How about
scheduling the patches on Thursdays? This is the
3rd Cup I'm playing and it's the 3rd time, the Patch releases in
the same week on a ... Wednesday 
This is just annoyingKarlie: You know, patch for millions of people is kinda priority
compared to tournament for 5000 people... so that is why the patch
is scheduled towards its needs. Also, with any patch, you never
know If it will not be moved to another day as also many times
happen. It depends on how the RU server behaved and If they spotted
some issues after running it. And as I already wrote, we never know
for sure the date of the patch itself basically till the day
before. So this is not an issue of synchronization, this is simply
how it goes. Many players also already know that If there is patch
on scheduled tournament day, it will be most likely moved to a next
day to avoid after-patch game issues, downloading the client etc.
Good point here is, even though many people know about moving the
day, we should write it into the rules - will do. We have
Cups every week, patches are in average every two months. You can
be sure that If you play tournament next week, it will not happen
and your 4th Cup will not be on patch day
