He was wrong by 2 month. I think 11.11.1919 is not a day to be remembered. It only lead to an even bigger catastrophe by making Hitler possible.
IPaul72: Hello there Kilo_India_Alpha
Thank you for your comment.
But lets not try bring politics into this.
However 11th of the 11th is the day the guns fell silent.
This is to remember the fallen (I dare say of all sides) the poor souls who died and most of them just kids.
Some enlisted and lied and was as young as 15 years old (puts things into a different prospective doesn't it?)
What they went through we can't possibly begin to imagine and even if we could a life expectancy of a trench soldier was very short and horrific, what they went through was just horrible.
I for one will show my respect by my silence and also with my poppy.
Here is a site that as a brief few descriptions about WW1

happened, the mistakes they made. All the former allies want to be
remembered is their "glorious" victory. If you want to remember
someone it is Woodrow Wilson with his 14 points plan that might
have brought peace. All what happened on that day was
French/British revenge. The other countries were lets say not happy
about the results. The Americans began their 20 years of isolationism, the Italians joined for land they did not get and the Russian revolution changed eastern Europe for 100 years. Some victors were even forgotten and not invited to the peace negotiations, if you call the things thatt happened in Versaille this.
What a day to be remembered...
IPaul72:
Hello again
I think you need to remember the day for what it is (if you wish to pay respects) the day the whole evilness of war came to an end.
Its not about glory it is about paying respect to the fallen who went to foreign lands to give their lives.

a poppy around with him all year long, I suggest that people stick
to the key issue here, remembering the fallen, tactless point
scoring over political issues are not the focus of Remembrance day
- and let's just remember it's to recognise the ultimate sacrifice
the young lads of ALL nations made during the Great War, not just
the winners...[edit] Forgot to add that I would be delighted to "buy" a poppy to display on my tanks, regardless of their nation
IPaul72: Hello there Frostilicus
As a Brit living in a foreign land I shall be joining you in remembrance as we all do here at WG.
However I don't know if there will be any type of event for it
Kind Regards all
