No on a serious though, I can understand the frustration when in game it as happened a few times with myself.
I think education is needed in some cases and knowing that is it virtual paint and not real.
In knowing this, there will be no T-cut needed to buff out the scratches...Hence no one needs to break a sweat!
However some vehicles are made for ambush such as certain tank destroyers.
When you get a break through vehicle sat in the back lines its hard to see reason. But on saying this everyone has their own style of playing.
If you are in a tier 7 game lets say with a lesser vehicle something of lower tier that has no speed and paper armor and a weak gun. You can't blame them for staying on the back line or playing a delayed support role.
But like WE_ARE_HARBINGER said below, it seems we are getting to these times.

Well the 50k xp mission is a good way hence it entices players to do damage.
Another way is a discovery mission based on xp gained my spotting other vehicles. (or something similar)
Hmmmm further thought is required on this I think
