Can I update my 8.7 CT to 8.8 or do I have to redownload the whole thing?

What I tend to do when there is a test client released is make a copy of my whole original game folder from c:/Games/World of Tanks to my desktop.
I then run the test server client on that one it then doesn't affect my original game folders.
