All things done in moderation

Straight up reply.
I understand the "red for moderators" idea, but technically that should have been implemented in the forum, from the very beginning
What about getting punished for using other collours besides red? Yes it happened, but I can't find the post ("There is no information to show.")
Different sized fonts? Dunno, I see those kind of posts regularly, but I got a warning for "Too many capitols".
No rep left to give away b.t.w. gave the last to SgtGuffers...

IPaul72: Hello there Costarring
All I can say is that the red text part was there in the old forum rules when I was a moderator from april last year, but before then I can't really answer.
Using other colours is ok I think its just best to avoid the Red text. However reading yellow text on a white background is bad (it strains the old eye balls) you wouldn't get a warning for it but no one would know what you were saying  :teethhappy:
Different sized fonts is another thing altogether it is ok to use capitals as long as it isn't excessive if you know what I mean. For example writing your whole reply in them as it is considered shouting which can be very rude if it was in person.   :amazed:

but you might want to adjust the warning points system a bit to reduce the impact of it on frequent constructive posters. lots of posts is lots of chances of minor rule transgressions that involve swearwords, and they eventually add up to a full ban..but for some posters that can take 5000 posts or more, dumbing out once or twice over 1000 posts. while the truly poor forumites achieve their warnings in a rather small amount of posts and most transgressions would most likely be more severe.
or am I talking nonsense here.

IPaul72: Hello there conductiv
No your not talking nonsense at all, in part I agree. However we have discussed at length this and many idea's brought forward and come up with different solutions.
But at this moment in time this current system seems to be working. If you have any other solutions I would happily put them forward to the moderations manager for you

1 ignore
2 close the thread
3 delete the posters making unhelpful comments.
Really its a no win situation for the moderator as the latter option though appealing would probably lead to many posts about censorship and would also be time consuming.
Unless we learn to police our own forum things will continue as they are. not replying to troll posts ever would be a good start, as would taking the attitude if I have nothing useful to say shut up.

IPaul72: Hello there Gremlin182
This I do agree with has I have been in this situation and basically like you say the is catch 22 with it.
1. Ignore never works.
2. If you delete posts you ruin the thread (unless they are deemed very bad and severely break the rules) making the topic nonsence and not conceivable.
3. I would say sometimes an option to close the thread works, This then may stop the arguments getting to a fisty cuffs situation where everyone gets their grandma involved! But to leave the thread in its original position if its not in breach of the forum rules by this I mean off topic, obscenity, profanity ect ect.
4. Most likely option to the one above, Have positive input to the thread and topic this means planting a post and intervening (after all most times all the communities want is a little input and information) even an: Hello would you like a cuppa tea works! This is why both Ectar, iscending and myself love what we do, we get to talk and meet people and most times have great discussions.

IPaul72: Hello there Cpt_Kawa
I'm sorry my original reply didn't please you  I can tell you're not very keen of me and this is ok (I can't lie it hurts a little but hey!)
However, lets say If a topic is getting to the point of argument and posts getting nasty where there is profanity and abusive remarks, people threatening each other with their grandma's! You know a proper hand bags at 12 o'clock situation.
I would rather see the topic removed so sometimes it is better to close the (hypothetical) topic before that happens. Now I'm not saying this is the case with the previous topic I'm just saying people don't need to see this behavior on the forums of a family game and this I'm sure you can appreciate.
I will be honest about this remark:
(We all know by now that most probably nothing will ever happen to a mod who was reported for misconduct. Lets be honest here WG policy is: "We do as we are pleased and if an incident, which we don't like isn't covered by some rule we are just going to make one up." Just be honest 1 time. Actually I think before you are posting this kind of answers you just did in here, you shouldn't answer at all.)
You would be surprised what happens when this is the case, when a moderator is reported there is a full investigation into the accused and they are called up to explain themselves. Wargaming takes this very seriously has we as a community team and moderators represent the company and Wargaming take their image very seriously as does any professional company.
I'm not going to explain what happens if they are found to be wrong as that is not my business, that's between them the reported and the accused.
To say moderators makes rules up if they can't find them simply out of order (I'm sorry but its preposterous)
If you have hard evidence that this has happened you need to be in contact with support which then gets in contact with the moderator management.
If support doesn't work and you feel cheated then contact one of your community team for example if your post was in German then you need the German language team.
Kind Regards all

I couldn't read any insults or something similar in the thread by Miros and his thread got closed probably for some really weird reasons. What do you mean with "argumentative posts"? There is a topic, people talk about it and the discussion gets a bit emotional, so what? Reading through your answers makes me think there is a bot typing this. And please stop bringing up this:

No, you are not talking nonsense at all, but just as those automated ingame systems the forum moderation is really sub par - well fits right in the WG attitude.
