as possible. But sometimes certain changes have to be made for the
sake of balance and making the tank fit for WoT's gameplay.
As for IS-8 gun, have a look at this data:
122 mm M62-T2 gun 4,51-5 Rate of fire (rounds/min)

The 122 mm M62-T2 gun has slightly better penetration, accuracy and aim time. But the difference is almost negligible.
If we disregard the tier difference we can see that IS-7 is superior in armor to the IS-8. Their respective speed being somewhat similar with slight top speed advantage of IS-7.
But as someone who has been playing both the German and the Soviet heavy line I can say that 260mm of penetration is more than adequate.
The German 12,8 cm KwK 44 L/55 has 246mm pen and I never had much problems using it :)
But in any case we do repetitively consider our players feedback and the statistical data for the possibility of change or improvement.
