PuppyLinux, on 02 September 2014 - 02:54 PM, said: Hi All I feel compelled to make this post and my experience
in WoT is just going down the pan. If wargaming want to stop
players leaving in their droves please do something about the
following. 1. Artillery Ok you are in a terrific battle with
tanks all around you having a great experience when boom, one shot
by an artillery, WHY do we have artillery in the random game?????
Surely the whole point of random games is to help people have fun
playing TANKS, what next off shore ships with huge guns, for gods
sake remove artillery out the random game please. 2. XVM I
am a casual player and I enjoy unlocking tanks and playing them, I
don't care about stats I care about having fun, if you want to use
XVM then play in a league, Random games are exactly that, RANDOM
and they should be fun, remove XVM from random games please.
3. Player Community Rather than berating people try being nice and
help others have fun, at the mo its a horrible place to be in
Random battles. 4. Match Maker Please fix match maker so I
cant meet 2 tier higher fully modded tank what is the point????? I
cant hurt that guy so why am I in a match with him??? I know
so many people who are fed up with WOT because of above issues they
just stop playing, so please address these issues for its too late.
Grimbru: I'm sorry to hear your experience has been frustrating of
late OP.
I do have to make a couple of
points of my own though. 1. Artillery, irritating though it
can be, is one of those things that in my opinion is more of a
benefit to the game than a curse. Artillery discourages static,
camping battles - if you didn't have the threat of Arty ruining
your day we'd just see more and more players sitting still and
waiting for a shot instead of having to move dynamically and
thoughtfully. Also, we have a tendency to forget all the times Arty
saves our butts! 2. XVM, as people have already said is a
third party mod. It does not really offer any advantage other than
for players looking to improve their play. I'm not keen on the win
% or the rating for other players tbh, I think it's best to treat
every battle and every enemy as an equal. A tomato in a KV2 can
still derp your tank to pieces if you get cocky. More experienced
players than I will say that it helps to formulate a strategy
though. They might for example decide to take a more aggressive lead
role if they think they are in a bad team. 3. The community
is, in my opinion quite nice actually. Especially compared to some
other online games I have played. You are right though, it's always
better to encourage or suggest what to do rather than demand, ram
and berate people into doing what you want. I think we just notice
these bad eggs a bit more though, most players are just
fine.
4. Matchmaking... The perennial
issue. Look I know it's frustrating to end up toe to toe with a
tank 2 tiers higher, but sometimes in this situation you need to
play supportive rather than trying to carry the game. Even if
you're just dinging someone, chances are they might turn there
turret at you, giving one of your big gun tanks the chance
they need. Also, you can always spot at the start of the battle. I
often get a great xp haul in my ELC simply because I spotted a few
guys in a Tier 8 game.
Good spotting can give an advantage early
on, swinging the game in your favor from the outset. In a few
minutes you get to join in the clear up and do some damage in
relative safety. At the end of the day though, we all get
frustrated at times, for all kinds of reasons. It's legitimate, but
the solution is usually to either take a little break or to play a
different tank.
