Falathi: The movie - IMO - was pretty OK. It wasn`t the best movie
I`ve ever seen, but honestly, it was OK.

then
Major421, on 08 October 2019 - 06:06 PM, said: Well ... the only thing that I liked about Fury was all the cameras
plan inside the tank and the overall feeling of how it was to being
inside a tank, for the rest it's just ridiculous ... not only the
end but even the start of the movie with the horse ... the attack
on the forest were all the shermans droves forward on an empty
field and the PAK40 still manage to missed them all ... The idea of
such movie was great really but ... that's all. And about
Dunkirk ... just horrible at best Falathi: For me, one of the good things about the movie was the fact
that you had original equipment used, including the Tiger 131.
There are so many, often pretty decent movies where you actually
have a Tiger/34-85 or something similar with bolted extra armor to
resemble the actual vehicle.
clickfingers, on 09 October 2019 - 12:13 PM, said: here is some alternative for that, maybe less
over-the-top-hollywood (tired of that stuff) style, but surely
something else and refreshing for a change, on youtube search for
this: The White Tiger (2012) (with subtitles of course)
Falathi: White Tiger is also not exactly 100% accurate
Actually, speaking of this: one of the best war movies I`ve see is Das Boot. In many ways the director went to great lengths to give it an authentic feeling, including 1:1 model of the U Boat interior, not allowing actors to leave so that over time they would look more pale and fatigued and ton, ton of other stuff.
Still, some purists managed to find a lot of inaccuracies in the movie - yet it still remains great!
PS Speaking of inaccuracies, two that I can mention right away are the fact that the lieutenant is hit with dirty rags and that`s it - normally, this would warrant a court martial as it`s a serious break of discipline.
Second - the water pressure at the depth is not enough to force bolts inside the boat - the vessel would reach the crush depth before that, with sides of the vessel collapsing before the failure of the bolts.
