What's an Autoloader Anyway?

Falathi:  Yes - but it`s a modest caliber. Also, I believe that few other things could have mattered, such as: 1. In tank you are expected to swap between ammunition types. It`s possible to be forced to swap them more than once over a short period of time. The autoloader should enable that - in case of AA guns this is not such a big issue. 2. Unlike the AA positions on ships of the era, you should rather build a turret with a substantial armor. Its weight is another factor that limits amount of space inside, even if not directly. 3. One more issue: autoloader in the tank should, ideally, enable use of all the ammunition in tank. A small ready rack is an option, but then you still need a loader to prepare the rack one the first one is spent. In case of AA guns, this is not a necessity as these stations were fed from the magazines and had more space to store ready ammunition around. Again, this makes design of the autoloader bit more complicated.  I think that these factors were important, along with reliability. On a large ship failure of one gun was not a huge problem itself and actually it was expected to happen due to the enemy action. In case of a tank, loss of one gun makes everything way more problematic ;)
