Quickybaby just hits 11k viewers!

Ectar: No one was ever picked as a "main horse" and no one ever has
been. The difference is simply recent content output. I met
Quickybaby at Tankfest 2012 and we started playing together. I
would join in his streams every so often and would occasionally
post on Facebook when we went live. We would also at the time
retweet RitaGamer who had not long started streaming. At that time
the only other prominent streamer was Highflyer15 who was more well
known for his youtube videos. There wasn't many other people
streaming at the time and the most views were always on Russian
channels. I can remember Quickybaby reaching a peak of 500 viewers
when we did a 12 hour stream when British tanks were released, and
I can remember RitaGamer getting excited about reaching 50 twitch
followers. Things were a lot lot different 2 years ago.
To give you another example of the "it's not just 1 guy" - We
brought Highflyer15 to Gamescom 2012, and we also brought him
to Gamescom 2013 along
with Circonflexes. Just because we haven't featured a
contributor recently on our portal doesn't mean we're no longer
supporting them. Our recent articles related to content
patches have been player created youtube videos and there has
been multiple other players highlighted. If someone isn't making
videos it's pretty hard to promote them in a video-centric article
that is focused on specific content.

Ectar: They have the "propaganda machine" available to them,
however any content has to be relevant to our articles. Both
players are well known to our community team and I drop by both of
their channels frequently myself. If we're publishing a
post about update 9.3 and a player/editor has no content
related to that, we don't really have any other options. -
Community Contributors have direct contact with Wargaming and know
the stuff we're looking for. Now along with being relevant to
the article, the content also has to be within what would be
considered normal forum/in-game rules. (This is why some
streamers/youtubers will never be officially promoted due to their
language/behavior when they stream or the content of their chat).
We want to promote as many players as possible as we're
trying to spread our coverage as far as we can, that content
however always has to be of a certain standard and not
just "for teh lolz". The people who have met me in real
life or know me personally know my sense of humor and whilst there
is lots of stuff out there which I agree is funny or entertaining
in it's own way, it's not appropriate for an official games
company website to promote. The aim of this recent
event was to promote Clan Wars which with 11k viewers I think you
can all agree that to a certain extent it worked. Yes
there is things we can improve on next time and I'm pretty sure
that more Community Team members, streamers and clans will want to
participate next time. If you're unhappy that XXX streamer didn't
take part, please understand that this was the first time we've
done something like this, and to get the most coverage it's only
natural we'd do something with the player who has the highest
viewer numbers. I look forward to seeing what the next
campaign brings, how many players/clans take part and what we
can do to promote it.
