oter people's opinions please ignore this thread . Does any of you
remember the time when there were no tier 10 medium tanks and TD's,
no tier 9 and 10 arties and no chinese-made russian knockoffs. There
is so much power creep coming with each new patch that armor no
longer matters and it stopped being important when premium ammo was
available for credits( when the SPershing was first introduced it
had the most OP front armor which would eat every shell thrown at
it just because people didn't know where to aim,now everything
pens it) Ectar: I remember that the Maus and E-100 literary had no
competition and due to their armour/health it was all people really
played at top tier. The "power creep" was there from the start.
This is because if you're going to put all your tanks in a
list, you're always going to have 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom.
The top tank is always going to be best and the bottom tank
is the worst. - If you bring in new tanks that aren't competitive
or can't threaten what's at top, then no one will pick up the new
tanks. Players want to be feel powerful and they want to feel
they can wreck the other tanks. Power creep doesn't
come with every tank as not every new tank is better than the
previous ones. If it replaces the top tank in the list
- It's op If it's middle of the list - it's nothing special If
it's bottom of the list - It's crap/underpowered/should have
features XXXX tank has There is never any getting away from
this. When players are looking to min/max unless a tank is top of
that list then all other tanks are "not as good as XXXX". I agree
the WT E100 has crazy damage output. but it also has ridiculously
weak armour that pretty much every tank can lob HE shells at.
It's not a "complete package" tank that excels in all areas.
There is ways to deal with them and players need to stop feeding
them and doing silly things like rushing head first into them,
especially when you know most spots on a map where they will be.
Premium ammo was always around. Now it's sadly a crutch for
people to lean on whenever things don't go their way. ("Oh he pen'd
me, must be premium ammo").. There is no "Oh hey, maybe he's been
playing for 2 years like me and his aiming is good/knows where to
aim" - Na, "It's got to be gold ammo". It's a perfect
thing to cover for any mistakes a player may have made. - I
have yet to see a replay from a player analysing a recent match
where he lost/died and straight up showing the reason was premium
ammo and not the fact they have have exposed their tank from an
angle they didn't expect/cover or simply got outplayed. "Even if it
came down to "here is were he loaded a prem shell" - you also could
have loaded a prem shell at any given time. It's not "noobish" to
have a few shells of premium ammo any more than it's not "noobish"
to have a rammer/vents etc mounted on your tank. When you
get shot and play bad it's hard to take. Trust me anyone watching
me stream last night would have been educated in how not to play.
Not once in any of those matches however did I ever blame
premium ammo or "OP tenks". I was to blame in pretty much
every situation and I could have done better with improved map
awareness, better aiming, and knowing the map/knowing when to
relocate.
