Ectar:     I apologize, my advice was for the player who had the issues, not someone as experienced as yourself. Sadly we can't always ask every player what their level of PC knowledge is before assisting them, not can we always have staff available who have over 20 years experience of dealing with software/hardware and have the same level of technical knowledge as you have yourself.   For each player who has an issue, the problem is more often than not unique and there is various different questions to be asked and avenues to explore in order to resolve the issue. If you wish to go through a fault diagnosis with Dont_Stop, be my guest I'm sure he'll appreciate the help.
