Sandbox 2021: Try Out the Reworked HE Shells!

The HE damage is consistent. The super heavies have definitely been buffed, armor in general has been buffed against HE. The amounts of damage are quite low, as expected though for non penetrating shots. That in itself isn't an issue, but I'm sorry to say it's going to quickly become one in the context of the state of special ammo and corridor maps.  The mechanics make sense, but that's about it, I can't say for sure if they're healthy or not for the game That's my first impression, I'll play more and form a more informed opinion.

Dwigt:  While Sandbox isn't an exact representation of the live server, we have to recreate the a close battle experience so that you get to test the changes as if it was on the live server. However, I understand that some players are only using premium ammo, it doesn't prevent you from using HE or testing the changes yourself. Maybe some players missed the important news? :sceptic: However, regarding the HE changes, glad that you like it and that you think it's heading in the right direction. You still have a week of testing so I encourage you to keep testing and ofc don't forget about the survey in the end!Thank you and good luck!

Dwigt: Sandbox isn't only about testing the changes in a 1v1 environment but in a similar live server environment. This would give both you and us a better view and result on those changes.The incentive is to see what's coming and have a direct line to the developers.

Dwigt: It's avoiding questions but since we're still on sandbox, nothing is certain yet and we don't have all the answers. Last year we had a full ammo system rework and, like I said last week, we're starting this year with the HE first and maybe then we should be able to go and revisit other elements.

Dwigt: HE will now penetrate screens and tracks but you should still be able to pen the tank armor which is not always guaranteed. However, as I said last week, those HE changes will also impact the EBRs. Also applies on EBRs wheels.You need aim now and damage isn't always guaranteed.

Dwigt: We usually test big changes and features on our Sandbox servers. It's the early stages and they might not even get to the game.Common test changes are usually confirmed and would go live.

Not to punish players that know to play the game effectively.   I didn't try the sandbox server, but I've read extensively about the change, and I really like it! This is definitely the step in the right direction.

Dwigt: We tested the IT heavies on sandbox with CCs.As for the rest of those changes you're proposing, maybe not on this sandbox. Now we're just starting with the HE, SPGs and Crew 2.0.

Dwigt: That's a nice way to put describe the cons of the current HE mechanics. This would also help heavies and serve as a general buff like you said. Good positioning and covering your weakspots should be rewarded.
