Do forum trolls ruin general post discussions?

Dakiras:   This has already been seen. Artisan Locksmith iScending was looking at that thread, I believe.   As for the issue of trolls, there is a time and place. Trolling, from my perspective, should be an artistic way of making jokes and fun/entertaining. The 'other kind' of troll is the belligerent and hateful types, which aren't actually trolls. They're just obnoxious people who, often in the absence of something constructive to add to a thread, will just post something to derail and create tension.   Sadly, as stated, these types of people will always exist and thrive in an environment of relative anonymity. It's just the psychology behind it in the most common cases. This is something that we (staff and mods) try to combat and keep off the forums. Alas, our WR against these people aren't too high.. Maybe we'll have to equip prem ammo in future and hit a bit harder. :P   As far as discussions go, I wanted to run an idea past you guys actually!   If there was a place where discussion could take place about current hot topics, no holds barred and no constant threat of it being closed down before its time because of derailing and flaming, would this be something of genuine interest? A place where debates can take place on the big topics currently flying around the forum/game, and where you can say what you want to say without fear of getting flamed for it.   I'd be interested to hear thoughts on this kind of initiative.
