Issues with Matchmaking?

Dakiras: I wasn't pitching my opinions because: 1. Even though it's
my personal opinion people will generally say "WG made you say
that." 2. I'm an ~800 battle veteran. General consensus is that
people take the weight of what I say when it comes to gameplay
mechanics based on this number. However, since you asked I
will add my own opinions on MM. These are
my personal opinions, and I will avoid being patronising
since that's something you've pointed out more than a few times.
Just a quick note on that, it's not my intention to be
condescending but I will try to be careful with the text I use,
since I can't fully convey my tone in text like with spoken
word so apologies if context and intent is lost in translation.
It could do with tweaks. Not a complete overhaul, but a few
bits of improvement here and there to tighten the gaps where MM
let's through some ridiculous team compositions. Other areas of
improvement may be with balancing teams while taking maps into
account. As higurush says, all TDs vs. all MT/LT on a city map is
pretty brutal. Overall: I think it isn't really an issue
and the suggestions I've seen where the balance is made to very
specific tiers (3s and 8s, for instance) as opposed to a
complete overhaul sounds pretty good. Also taken into account
the previous sentence about tank type spread. Map consideration
isn't really something I feel is required if the tank types are
spread. I've known from very early on when I started playing
that there will be times (often) when I'm punching above the weight
of my tank. I don't necessarily like it but it's a part of the
game's mechanics just as much as penetration and spotting, and I
get on with it. I'm all about personal achievement, as opposed to
overall, so when I'm in a low tier tank vs something 2-4 above me I
think: "Right, ya little beggars. I'm going to be highest on the
scoreboards regardless of how big you are!" I generally have a
positive attitude towards insurmountable odds and insane challenges
(I like games like Dark Souls and Demon's Souls), and stupid
meta-game challenges that I set myself in games so this I view in
the same way. Sure, it's not for everyone to think like
that. People face challenges differently. Matchmaking isn't perfect
and a very large number of people are unsatisfied. I'd like to give
the answer that would please everyone, but I can't. :P

Dakiras: I'm impartial. If people have already chosen to leave,
there's almost nothing you can say to get them back. Usually the
only option is to resolve the issue that caused them to leave,
which is something that we're trying to work on - hence the
feedback and re-vamped thread, coupled with feedback being sent
back to the development team regarding the matchmaking system. It's
not that I don't care whether someone leaves or not, it's more
about having the experience to understand that someone has made up
their mind and no pretty words dressed in sugar will change it.
Results might, but since the result requires a change in actual
development of the game, there's absolutely nothing I can guarantee
because those kinds of decisions don't fall to the community team.
We will continue to pass the feedback on. This is all the can be
promised, and I'm not going to lie about that because I don't want
to create a false expectations.

Dakiras: Yes, I looked at your profile. Don't take offence with that,
or think that I'm singling you out for any reason. In a single
working day I will probably open anywhere between 20-50 profiles.
What I look for varies, but generally it's for posts that have been
made, or threads, to get an idea of context when someone is
contacting me or calling me out in a thread.
