Dakiras: There are a lot of factors to consider with regards to latency, and without going into the great lengths of detail and baffling those who aren't that interested in the specifics of it, I'll just say that the key factors in latency across many games are:   Your ISP and its routing protocols and/or the routes between you and the server Your fps (yes, this is a factor!) Your upload/download speeds The server's fps (only applicable to games that allow private servers, such as FPS games) Arcane magics   There are ways that you can minimise the amount of lag you experience, but for MMO games where you can't modify the client's netcode, this is limited to lowering your settings, and disabling anything else running on your system that might cause spikes in your latency. Also despite technological advances, wireless is still not optimal for competitive gaming.
