I can give more feedback after the tournament.

CLRG: Hello :) Nice to meet you and glad you're coming back to play tournaments. I'll answer a few points in your message to elaborate on our thought process for this tournament.

And which made it even harder, you still had to win almost every battle to have a chance to the top prizes (so fighting against teammates while trying to win every battle). Like Juyhou said, his team got a month of premium and DRL is likely the best team in 3v3 format. This tournament had nothing to do with teamplay and indeed was probably the worst format you have ever featured. Then again, I understand that you are trying out new things but I hope you are never using this damage-based ranking anymore.

CLRG: This is true but was also intended. The idea for this one was to go with something completely different from the traditional format, giving an individual dimension to the team game, like we would see in a random battle: every man plays for himself but still wants his side to win. So you had to win as a team, while making sure to be the top contributor within your team. Or, alternatively, if you were good enough, you had to agree together for two of your players to sacrifice themselves in order to maximize the damage of one player, that was an option too. Definitely tricky, but we were curious to see how it would play out. It was intended as a one-time thing. From the feedback so far, it seems like the experiment  didn't work, especially for our top players. So we probably won't use the damage based ranking in team games again.

You just have to organize them in the right way. Firstly, make the tournament for teams, not for players. So, same team registers for the whole week and we need to have one reserve player. Also rewards should be for top teams, not for top players.

CLRG: A "whole week" competition is a concept we really like. In fact we want to give it another go in the very near future, with a different set of rules. However, these competitions require the players to commit for several days in a row and not everybody is able to do that. We will need to find a balance.  As for the "team vs player", we definitely agree. Tournaments are for team play, and team play should have team-based rewards. You win or lose together. However, occasionally, we like the idea of throwing in an odd format, just to give you guys something unsettling to deal with. If we can manage to do that, and you like some formats and dislike some others, it could be Ok.

If it just is possible with your tools, team rank shouldn't come from these points you gave from the group rank (12-10-8...), and instead you should count team's gained points / maximum points possible. So, for example, if team won 25 battles, drawed 1 and lost 1 battles, their points would be 76/81 = 0,938. If there is a team that had 9 teams in one of their groups (means one less battle), their gained points would be divided by 78. Do you get the point? This way there wouldn't be so many winners, when you can't even draw any battles to get the full 100% points. In this format you had here, teams could lost in total like 3-5 battles and still were able to get 36 points.

CLRG: Completely agree. Too many top winners is the core of the problem. Not how we envisioned it. Totally Berbo's fault. :) Let's see if week 2 yields the same conclusion.

But I'm gonna keep going: for this kind of multi-day tournament you should have 5 days of group stage to minimize the part of luck. And after every day, something like 20% of the bottom teams should be eliminated (so 20% of teams are left in the 5th day) to prevent afk-teams from ruining the tournament. Especially when you are rewarding only like 10% of the teams there would be MANY technical victories on days 3, 4 and 5.   After the week prize pool could look something like this (prize per every team member): 1st: 15 000 (gold) 2nd: 10 000 3rd: 7 500 4th: 6 000 5th: 5 000 6th: 4 500 7th: 4 000 8th: 3 500 9th: 3 000 10th - 20th: 1 month premium 21st - 40th: 1 week premium 41st - 70th: 3 days premium 71st - 150th: 1 garage slot   In this prize pool there is (for 3+1 team size) about 150% more gold than you now had per one week but I hope you realize that the current prize pool is really low with the expection of the very first places. But, in my prize pool there's almost same amount of premium time given out than you had per one week, if that makes you feel any better. In that example there obviously is alot more garage slots but they really are worth almost nothing so I don't think it's too bad to reward many teams with atleast something.

Good luck in week 2, and stay tuned for the next big thing.
