The upside is that people got some incentive to look around and join. Speaking of which, if you are interested in joining properly - my clan is recruiting.

Brynd:   We wish you good luck in your recruitment drive.

From a clan point of view, I wouldn't want people joining a clan I am in just for these missions, and then probably never contribute anything towards the clan due to them not wanting to join in the first place.

Brynd:   Trying to force people? A little encouragement, maybe. We're not trying to force anything, though. We totally understand that clans aren't for everyone.

(or something like that!) and that was it - instant access to a group of players who would happily platoon with me and work together in battle.  I'd never experienced that and it was (and still is) brilliant.  Then I found out that the clan have their own website and forum - a micro-community within the larger WoT community - where we shared funny stories, tactics, our victories and defeats.  It was great fun.   I guess the point is that being part of a community makes the game much more rewarding and fulfilling.  Of course, it also benefits WG since it encourages players to stay in the game but that's fair enough and it doesn't cost the player anything.  So it is a win-win situation.

Brynd:   I'm pleased to read of your experience, krazypenguin.   Being part of a clan can bring a new and welcome dimension to enjoying the game and yes of course we're supportive of the idea that people might stick around a little longer in the game because of the feeling of friendship and camaraderie that being part of a clan can bring. :blinky:
