A França e a Alemanha chegaram à conclusão em meados dos anos 50 que precisavam do mesmo tipo de tanque, e resolveram fazer o requerimento para esse novo tanque em conjunto. Os alemães apresentaram dois protótipos (um deles acabou dando no Leopard), e os franceses apresentaram um, que depois de desenvolvido deu no AMX-30. Os alemães preferiam o tanque alemão, os franceses o tanque francês. E o resto é história.

Pigeon_of_War:     Personally? I love the Personal Missions (see that pun there?) A lot of people say they encourage bad behavior, when in contrast I think it teaches how to properly play a specific tank. The entire Light tank line's worth of missions will have you active and passive scouting at different intervals, the Tank Destroyer ones teach the important of remaining undetected and long range shots, and the Heavy tank ones just teach you how to play well. Sure,t hey are some you can complete by driving with reckless abandon into the middle of a field, but those are really very few and far in-between. I mean, the Heavy Tank #15 for the Stug IV requires an immense amount of skill and armor angling to complete, I don't think anyone can argue this.

Pigeon_of_War: Hey Tankers and lovers of Personal Missions!   We have received many tickets about people having issues with Personal Missions. Let's clear the air a little from the Support angle.   First, Tank Destroyer Mission Number Two for the Stug IV. The wording in here is incorrect and will be fixed next patch, but you are supposed to either knock out a crew member or completely destroy (damaging is not good enough) an internal module. The secondary requirements are correct.     Second, SPG Mission Number Five for the Stug IV. You must not only "track" an enemy vehicle, but that vehicle must be destroyed while it was tracked by you. Just tracking it isn't enough.   Finally, sending in a ticket about Personal Missions not completing while you have modifications. I mean, like stated with Tank Destroyer #2, if there is an issue and you think you legitimately found one, please by all means let us know and send a ticket. Please, though, PLEASE remove your modifications. XVM especially mixes up not only the words but the criteria to complete Personal mission, leading to lost time and effort on your part and a broken heart when we tell you mods need to be removed and we can't examine the ticket further until then.   Hope this helps out, and see you on the Battlefield!

The_Chieftain:   You forget. I'm Irish.   Not all the world shares the American view of Spring consisting of half of the longest days of the year. For us, St Brigid's Day (01 Feb) marks the first day of Spring. If you think about it, having Winter be Nov, Dec, Jan means that all the shortest days of the year are in the dead of Winter, and all the longest days of the year are in the height of Summer. As opposed to splitting them over two seasons each.

Lert: I don't know what powers that type of planes' flaps, and whether a certain amount of engine trouble would remove their ability to operate them. Though one might imagine flaps are an integral part of take-off and should have been deployed - but again, I'm not an expert and just going by what I've seen in many an air-crach-investigation episode on NGC.

Lert:   From what I hear it was engine trouble after point-of-no-return on take-off. But that's mostly hear-say, I'll await the official report before drawing any conclusions.
