dance210:   As I mentioned before, the idea behind the AMX 13 57 being first place is an eSports branded tank, designed for the Wargaming.net League - which is what this tournament is all about. Yes, it may not be "worth" as much as a KV-5 or Type 59, but that wasn't the point of the tournament. The point was to promote eSports ;)

On the first day we are going to fight the other 9 (if not more) teams in our group (if i'm right). then what about the other days? do we keep fighting the same group for points for all 5 days or are we put into a new group for each day?

dance210:   Teams will be randomly distributed to groups each day. So, while there is a slim chance you will see the same team multiple times (hopefully not with the number of teams!), you should see new teams :)

The_Chieftain: I'm inclined to agree. I think this is an example of theory for some reason not entirely matching with reality. I can operate in all positions in the tank, but not comfortably for long. I'm also suspicious given the relative size of the turret on the M1 to the Type 88 which, by external appearance seems decidedly smaller despite sharing some of the design team.

Did I miss it, or in his analysis of minimum internal height due to requirement of the gun breech, does he assume that the TC and gunner are at the same seat height from the turret floor?

The_Chieftain:   That single sheet is pretty much standard for 1/35 kits from 1980-2005, I think. What I do is not bother with it, and instead make the vision blocks after painting is completed by using Krystal Kleer.

Firstly, most tracks don't allow you to pay just $20 for a fifteen minute jaunt, they want you to pay hundreds for the day. Secondly, I have a convertible, and most tracks won't let you run a convertible, for liability reasons. Idiots. Just look at how much fun Nurburg is.   Of relevance.

View PostRedwing_Warrior, on Apr 17 2015 - 21:53, said: Dance,   I know that WG has stated that the reason they eliminated the Quarter Final payout in the Weekend Groups was because there were teams that were getting a first round bye with the format change.  While I understand that WG does not want to hear the complaints about the few teams each week that get this "free gold", I still believe that you are hurting more teams with this change.    Take this week for example.  There are 8 Weekend Groups.  In those groups, 14 teams have a first round bye (as close to the max number as you can get).  So in order to make sure that these teams have to "earn" their prizes, you are punishing 50 teams that will have won their first round battle but lose in the second round.  Is it really worth saving the 38,500 gold that those 154 players (assuming each of the 14 teams has the full 11 player roster) would get to deprive the up to 550 possible players on those 50 teams?  Yes, I know that most will say that those teams just need to get better and to suck it up but sometimes your team does play well and does have a good record over the long haul but just runs into those darn weekend purple teams.  Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that every team entered needs to get gold, I firmly believe that having no success means getting no rewards.  I just don't think that the removal of the Quarter Finals payout is fully justified.    The best way to counteract this "free gold" from occurring is to go back to combining the Bravo Playoffs with the Weekend Playoffs.  That way, any team that would get a first round bye (if necessary) would be the team(s) that just missed making the Alpha Playoffs.  But I know that many of the Bravo teams complained about getting beat by the weekend teams even though the had 20 to 21 battles to use as a tool to help them in the playoffs.   Yes, I know that no matter what you do, you will never be able to make 100% of the players happy.   Anyways, GL to everyone who moved on to Saturday.

dance210:   I think you misunderstand. Changing the weekend playoff gold structure isn't only about preventing teams from getting free gold. Is it part of the decision? Yes. But, it's not the whole decision.   Tournaments should be at least semi-competitive. For the weekend playoffs paying out until 8th place was not competitive. Again, all a team had to do was win once. Compare that to the weekend warfare tournament that we started the beginning of last year - teams needed to place in the top 4 to earn less gold than the weekend portion of the Skirmish offers. This change brings it more in line with what we have done in the past. It also makes it so there is a difference between playing all week and making the Bravos and just signing up for the weekend. As an FYI, there were several other things that we considered before making these, and all other, changes.   While I understand your frustration and that some changes are disliked, we don't make changes lightly and we track those changes over time. If needed, we'll adjust in the future.   Thanks.

dance210:   I think you misunderstand. Thanks.

Trevzor:   Confirmed.   Dance thinks of everything long before the tournament registration is even opened.

And lets say there are 1k teams, with 10 per group, that would mean 100 groups. Wouldnt that basically mean that there really wont be any teams placing in the top 2% or 3% (since there will likely be atleast 2% of teams without any losses? (My math is bad btw, dont trust it, just curious)

dance210:   If there's 1000 teams, then yes, it's highly likely that groups will have 10 teams in each.   As for the top 2 - 3%, well, that depends. Yes, there is a possibility that 2% could go undefeated in one night - but could those same teams go undefeated every night?   When doing a tournament based off of percents, especially such close percents, there is always a possibility that there could be a tie for rank, which we plan for before it begins :)
