Thradya, on 15 April 2011 - 10:36 AM, said: Just as a side note: amount of gold you're giving away is
laughable. Believe me, you won't spoil your players and lose money
in the long run if you up the gold rewards to at least two weeks of
premium.
Or don't give anything at all, so it won't leave bad taste in anybody's mouth.
So far I've seen no incentive at all to participate in any event you organized.
It's just my opinion on the subject, so don't go all "if you don't like it GTFO" on me.

LiannaSilverwind: Every report you send to support is
1) being read
2) screenshots being checked
3) logs being checked
4) TKer gets his reward, that may be big or even huge if he was reported several times already
Conclusion:
1) Please report every griefer, TKer or rageman who insulted you
2) Please give support some time to check your report, they really work all the time!
Thank you for helping the game!

LiannaSilverwind: I suggest upgrading your tank whenever possible, because it is much
more enjoyable to play fully upgraded tank than undergunned,
underpowered, slow vehicle of doom that tries to "get more xp per
battle, just 30 more battles, just 29... oh damn, I'm dead once
again, because I cannot do anything"...
If you are in no hurry to get tier 9/10 tank, then enjoy your path! Say No to grind, say Yes to enjoyment!

LiannaSilverwind: Every user was permitted to have only one account during the beta,
therefore you admit you've broken the rules.
As far as I know current release rules do not prevent you from having more than one account, at least Russian server has no such limits. In case any of your accounts break the rules, all your accounts will get the same ban. This is not official information, I will inquire WG staff about one vs many accounts.

Prepaid hours.
Let's see.
A month of premium is 2500 Gold. That's 83.33 Gold/day.
A week is 1250 Gold; that's 178.57 Gold/day.
3 Days is 650 Gold; that's 216.66 Gold/day.
1 Day is 250 gold, so 250 gold a day.
12 hours should be... 200 gold.
6 hours should be... 150 gold.
3 hours should be... 100 gold.
...And 1 hour should be... 75 gold.
What would you say?
Of course, the smaller the premium amount of time requested, the more expensive it would become.

News from the Front\Developers Blog\Interviews with Ural Steel Qualifying Winners: Angels of Death

Link on message: #479248
admin:
Ural Steel Tournament qualifying is over, recognizing its winners in 6/60, 8/90, and 10/140 Divisions. And now RedSky, Angels of Death, and Iron Wolves are going to present the North American server in the Grand Finals that will take place in Moscow in May. But before that it is good to learn more about our winners.
We are glad to present interviews with the mighty warriors of World of Tanks – commanders of the winning teams. Here is the first interview held with MrCaruthers, the leader of Angels of Death clan which won in 8/90 Division.
1. How did your team gather? And who are its members? How long have you been playing WOT?
Angels of Death was first formed in 1999, by Liquid Smoke, and has been running continuously for over 11 years now. Our World of Tanks Division and Tier 8 Team, while having a much shorter history, has achieved a lot in a very short time. Officially a division in August 2010, Angels of Death WoT soon formed a highly competitive team to enter into the first U.S. Open Tournament, and then Battle League. Many of the members that played in the U.S. Open and Battle League make up our current Ural Steel team, and were originally chosen for not only their individual skill, but their team play, their ability to follow a detailed plan, their ability to communicate, and their garage make-up. Many of our members on the Team have played WoT since before the Summer of 2010, and we foresee a very long future with World of Tanks. The members of our Tier 8 team are as follows:
AltSeagullBBM, Atlatl, Bronco, Cedtheslayer, DocZoidberg, etac28, FatherTyme, Friction,
Gristle6, Harshe, loganov, Macdandee, MERC26, MrCaruthers, navy714,
NightShift, SilentTiger, stone19delta, War_2g, and Torv!
2. How long did it take for you and your teammates to feel free in battles, to become a single whole?
A good number of our members have been working together since the first U.S. Open tournament, so we have had some time to build up our chemistry, and team play. While we added several members to the Ural Steel Team, these members have fit in right from the beginning and we have only built onto what we have learned from our first tournament. So, to answer your question, I felt we were working as a "single whole" from the first day of practice. And after a week of daily practice, we were at such a good place that our members would barely have to say a word on Ventrilo to convey to each other what was unfolding on the battlefield.
3. How did the decision to participate in “Ural Steel” Championship come?
Angels of Death has participated in every tournament since the U.S. Open, and ever since, we decided we would be actively involved in every tournament from that point on.
4. What were the most popular vehicles used by the team members?
The most popular tank would have to be the T-32. We all really appreciate what this tank can do in the right hands, and I believe our members used them to our advantage. At one point our defensive unit, made up of two T-32's, successfully held off five IS-3's trying to break through onto our cap.
5. Were there any difficulties your team were facing during battles? Who were your most severe opponents?
Sure, we had our share of difficult moments in a few matches. I believe we drew two matches, during the tournament, so we certainly had our challenges at times. Without a doubt our most competitive opponent was ROTA. They really put us through the paces, and we have really come to respect them as one of the strongest teams on the NA server. Beyond that ROTA really impressed us with their sportsmanship, and we look forward to playing with them in the next tournament.
6. What do you think about the organization/requirements/rules of the Championship? Would you like to have changes anything?
Angels of Death thought the new win conditions were a fantastic change. Needing two wins out of five games really puts the onus on the teams to do something other than camp it out. While there were some very defensive teams that our Tier 8 team faced, we adjusted accordingly and had planned for teams with this mindset. Other than that, the automated system went off without a hitch, although we would still like there to be a GM in the matches to record and handle any questions that may arise.
7. What are your expectations from the Grand Finals in Moscow? How easy/difficult will it be to struggle with Russian and American players?
We are really looking forward to the Grand Finals in Moscow, and plan to come out on top. I continually tell our members that we need to remain confident in every match we play, and with this positive mindset only good things can happen. While I abhor arrogance, I believe that if you feel you might lose a match it will turn into a self-filling prophecy. With that said, I believe we are a match for any Russian or European team, and we should have some good matches in store for us. Win or lose, we will hold great respect for our opponents, and look forward to the chance to meet some of the best players in the game.
8. Do you have any unique tactics that are always helpful, or have you prepared something special for the Grand Finals?
Our main "tactic" is really the chemistry we have as a team, and our preparedness, that will hopefully set us apart from the other teams in Moscow. I rely on the strategies that our team has put forth and the countless hours of work pouring over a map, which we then apply to real world situations.
9. Would you like to wish anything to your partners /your EU-server supporters or rivals-to-be?
To redsky and Iron Wolves we wish you much luck, and hope that you both advance to the top. Win or lose we will be partying together in Moscow, and we plan to have a great time! To our rivals, we have great respect for your accomplishments in World of Tanks, and we hope to have some great and memorable matches.
I would also like to take this time to thank our Tier 6 team for all their support and time they spent with us practicing every single night. Without your support we would not be where we are today. Also to our other WoT members, thank you for challenging us during practices, and again, without your support we would not be where we are today! Lastly, to our upper command of AOD, thank you for all the support you have given our team, without you we would not even have a division in World of Tanks. Thank you.

So Overlord, any further details? Can you confirm that physics are coming sometime in the future? If so, any timelines or estimates?
Overlord: confirmed, timelines are not defined yet

any idea what the content should be at version 1.0.0.00?
Overlord: 0.6.3.11 actually. We don't care much about the indices. The next
patch will be v.0.6.4, then comes v.0.7. A long way to go till 1.0.

admin: This is the last edition of the Diaries. So, I decided to make it
interesting for everyone. All the users who enjoy reading stuff
about our corporate leisure pastime, those of you who might ask a
reasonable question: “Do they work at all???” will find something
interesting here by no means!
Day 9:
Tonight we are going to ice-skate. However… I’ve got a lot to do. The first task I’m planning to solve is to reply to a huge number of e-mails that I received from the players following the appearance of my Diaries. They just loaded me with congrats, wishes, comments and there were even some offers to help! I can’t but thank everyone for your attention and support! It’s been such a pleasure to read your messages and reply to them.
Another thing I’ve got to do is to participate in an interview held by a newspaper called “World of Tanks News”. Besides, today I got one more task – I should compile some regulations (this project is kept secret, but soon you will learn a lot about it, and I’m sure, you will love it). That’s not an easy task, so I had to spend quite a number of hours in Google, and then contacted some people.
At 20:00 everybody started rushing there and forth, trying to finish all tasks in hand and to switch off computers, and the Big Boss gives instructions to those who stay late. It’s already 20:15, when we leave the office. Ahead! To greatest deals!

Surely, all company’s workers are invited to ice-skating, but due to extra stirring life not everyone could come, even despite the fact that the ice rink was booked for evening. Two hours of “Battle on the Ice” slipped in a crack, because such a rest is almost the only way to escape everyday routine.

Despite the fact that our leisure ended late in the evening, many people went back to the office after ice-skating. I’m not yet that much fanatic, so I went home. But even at home I failed to have a rest, have a nap, or read a book – I got some work in “23+” mode. I started to work over one more project when it’s nearly dark, and that required my long-term presence in Skype. Unfortunately, I cannot boast extra stamina or working ability after the midnight. And as a result, at half past one AM I went in the arms of Morpheus. I hope my readers will forgive me for this weakness.
Day 10:
I’m not going to cheat or say that my colleagues come to work at the crack of dawn. We love sleeping, too, so colleagues from my department bands together at about 9-10 am. And that is no exception.
I confess, today I came late (after 10:00), and it turned out that the community-devs were fussing about a new task, set by server admins – maintenance works on server. And forum caught those “maintenance works” too. Programmers and system administrators performed mystic procedures to bring the server back to life. And surely they did it successfully.
This technical issue set the tone for the whole day. I have some texts for translation to be placed on the website, I still do my work over regulations, and at 18:00 I am to take part in the radio program Direct Fire along with my colleague Veronika (Content-Manager on the North American server).
We got prepared for the program and joined the anchors. So I’m on air. I will not retell the whole discussion, but I must honor the anchors. They are true professionals! I could not believe that they are just amateurs. My colleagues listened to the program, and when we being newcomers said something merry or funny (Veronika joined the Community just a couple of weeks ago), they burst out into laughter. To cut it short, we are the tops!
The radio program is over, the end of the day (19:00-20:00) is still far away, and I continue my work.

Attention! We're on air! Please do not slap the door (close it on leave) and speak low.

You cannot imagine what happened afterwards! My colleagues gathered a real full platoon, and they rushed to the enemy base on the second floor looking for some cookies (we’ve run out of them on our floor). They came back carrying a huge plate of trophies, and I’ve never seen them happier before. Here they are, the small joys of the day.
Day 11:
This is my last day in this office, and today I have to finish all my work. Beside the project I already have (the regulations that I’ve been doing for the last several days), I got loads of text for translating. I had to translate some documents for content-managers, related to their work. I was disappointed because I had no time for playing World of Tanks and had to reject all invitations in the game.
Just now I received a corporate e-mail, named “Cakes on 9th” (I reckon, I never told you about the nuts of our corporate e-mails). That meant that someone is celebrating his/her birthday today, and if you are fast enough you will get a bite of happy-pie.

43. The cakes are on 9th. You snooze, you lose.
Before I leave this place I want to brighten you up and give away some secrets got from devs. Most important of them I placed in the article devoted to Ural Steel HQ news, so now those guys put on blank faces.

HQ
In addition to those pieces of news I want to tell some more stuff: 0.6.4 patch will be released soon, and afterwards players will see the updated American Tank Tree, which will include new AT-SPGs. I not sure, whether I get a pat on the back after posting these secrets in my Diary, but I feel rejoiced too, because I am WoT-addicted as well and am waiting for these patches.
***
Well, I have to go home now. My practice is over. I feel sorrow that I had to leave Wargaming.net company. Although I had no rest during practice, as most of my course-mates, I got priceless experience of work in community and learned a lot of things. I don’t know if I can stay in the company, but I know one thing for sure – I WILL NOT STOP PLAYING WORLD OF TANKS. And I will miss all these guys for sure.

P.S.
Through my Diaries I wanted to let you feel the real ambience of Wargaming.net. There are always loads of problems and tasks, but along with it there are always ways of joy, which make each day a special one, and help to overcome the difficulties. The Supervisors of the company do their best to brighten the routine. To make a game is art. And it’s better to create when one is live.

0.6.4. patch adds more checkpoints on tank's model, therefore the
strain will be even greater. 0.6.4. is being intensely tested right

There should be some mechanism to give them away from those players, who obviously are just whining. Those can be given for example for those in CBT who didn't reach 1000 battles (starting from 1000, 999, 998 battles and so on) and OBT who exceeded 1000 battles (starting from max battles), because I think they would be very happy for getting something. Original gift tank owners could get some silver (and of course keep that extra slot).

News from the Front\Developers Blog\1stPAD - Bravo Squad: The Secret of Success
Link on message: #475397

admin: The first global tournament to have taken place on the EU-server
within World of Tanks has come through the premier stage and the
winners are getting prepared to the Grand Finals that will take
place in Moscow in May. There our winners will face rivals from US
and RU-servers. Who they are, how they have achieved their success
and how they are preparing for the final stage of the tournament
you can find out from the interview with the captains of the
teams.
6/60 EU-server winners - 1stPAD - Bravo Squad
Captain: Argrin

- Argrin, first of all our congratulations on having won the “European” stage of the tournament and will you please share your expectations from the Grand Finals in Moscow with us? Do you think it will be easy or difficult to struggle with the Russian and American players?
- Firstly, it has to be fun for everyone. I personally expect a huge dose of adrenalin and emotions! As for the Grand Finals in Moscow, I am sure they will be the hardest challenge so far. What concerns our rivals, first of all we won't disregard competitors (I always repeat that before the battle), even the worst-organized team may win with a bit of luck. I think all the teams will display the same level of game play. I do not want to say which one is the best or worst yet
- Well, I won’t insist! I’d rather ask a few questions about the stage that has been gone through successfully. Were there any difficulties your teams were facing during the battles? Who were your most severe opponents?
- Yes, there were teams which we fought to the very end, of course they were 1SBP and the Pirates. The other teams which we didn't know anything about were also challenging us and caused a lot of trouble for us. I can't forget the 1/8 stage of the tournament, namely the battle with 1SBP… Our team member chose a wrong vehicle (SPG tier 6) just three seconds before battle starts, and Wiktor, the son of our teammate, told his father: "Dad, look he's got GW panther"... Our teammate’s quick reaction saved us from definite disqualification. Luckily we had a draw in that round, but Wiktor deserved a box of sweets!
- What about the most popular vehicles used by the team members?
- Well, I would like to avoid answering this question. Our competitors will read this for sure. All I can say is that we used vehicles of all nations offered:)
- Looking back to the beginning of the Championship, could you tell your readers why have you decided to participate in the tournament and how the team gathered?
- Our team is a part of official 1st Polish Armored Division clan, we can say that the team members are veterans in the world of WoT, some of them started playing WoT on RU-server when the game was in the Alpha test phase. As for our participation in the Ural Steel Championship I can say that our clan always organizes teams for any competition, like for instance the Battle league. The junior division is like a “steppingstone” from the usual play. We took our chances and decided for taking part in the tournament and… well, we did it!..
- Congrats once again! It is interesting though how you found the organization of the tournament. Where you happy with the requirements and regulations of the Championship? Would you like to have changed anything?
I think that this championship has been the best-organized so far, the system of battles was well-prepared, but there were some mishaps though, like the situation when scripts displaying the results of matches were deadlocked sometimes. Generally speaking, I don't have any major objections, but the time (it was 10 pm in Poland) was not the best time for us play J. No offence!
- And my last question to you is whether you would like to wish anything to your partners, your EU-server supporters or maybe even rivals-to-be?
- I wish all Polish teams to take the winning places in the finals. What I want to say to all our supporters is: "Please, wish us luck!" And finally my message to the rivals is: "GOOD LUCK, LET THE BEST WIN!"
- Thanks a lot for your interview. We wish you good luck and we hope that you will show your courage, stamina and zeal in the Grand Finals!
We are going to continue publishing materials about the winning teams of the EU-server. Next week you will be able to express your opinion in the poll dedicated to 8/90 divisions and read the interview with Halfik, Pirates “Henry Morgan” captain.
