The_Chieftain: Chieftain was one of the first tanks to have a suppline driver's
position. Someone figured out that there was actually no
requirement for the driver to sit vertically, and with smaller
power trains, it was the driver's head which was resulting in the
tank hull being as high as it was. If the driver lies back, things
get much more compact. As a result, you'll find reclining driver
positions to be pretty much standard nowadays. I've the Type
90 model myself, with the mine-roller. I found it to be quite a
good kit, actually.
