This garbage company can't even make frontelines fun

View PostThePigSheFlies, on Mar 14 2019 - 14:16, said:   had a FL battle with one of your staff, and it intrigued me how much he lashed out at the player base for it being, and I quote:  "one of the most selfish player bases ever" when I mentioned how fun it was killing arty   I pointed out rather candidly that wargaming creates the meta, they create the entire environment with which we, the player base orbits in.    they create the fact that individual player rewards are how one is compensated in a battle.  in FL, they create this incentive to rank up to get free tanks.  ranking up is therefore more important than winning...    further, I pointed out that wargaming recognizes different player abilities, and motivations and as such has no problem with people playing so passive that they're basically afk "guarding arty" for tens of thousands of battles.    I even mentioned a pub battle on himmels, where I did actually thank two of my allies afterwards, that were not well rewarded by the game's system.  scenario, I was in a conqueror facing off vs 5 enemies I had pushed back to their side of the hill.  2 LTs on my team went barreling past, down the hill which caused that 5 tank blockade to fragment, give chase and turn their turrets.  these two LTs were both smashed, with very little damage, and no assist.  but our tier 10s were doing NOTHING and their actions allowed me to deal with those 5 tanks, and resulted in us winning the battle.  whereas I recognized their contributions, the system does not.  and thus, yes, most of the time people play selfishly, because honestly, is the gratefulness of a salty old fart like me enough to motivate most folks into making a play like they did?  nope.   oh, and the after battle report in that FL roflstomp loss?  while I was giggling like a madman farming the same arty player over and over, he and I were if I recall correctly the same rank, and our total damage/assist was pretty on par...  I was entertained, but it sure sounded like this staffer was not...

DomoSapien:   I'm going to be honest with you here, I'm not sure what in my reply warranted this quote/response (unless it sounds cheeky, because I was going for more of a confused/disheartened tone than a cheeky one - I can see how that could be interpreted both ways, though) I would be genuinely interested in seeing that correspondence in its original context.
Not trying to get anyone in trouble but if said situation transpired, verbatim, as you described, the staff member in question may benefit from some refresher training on etiquette. Can you send me a PM with more details so I can follow up on this?   Our community, like any community, has some bad apples and generally is far from sainthood (the game is about tanks and blowing stuff up some obviously it attracts some people who are rough around the edges), but as someone who's been gaming virtually his entire life I've seen plenty worse. I've had allies spend literally their entire battle trying to right my flipped tank, which is pretty darn far from selfish.
