A Reach Out To The Community

If I have a serious question that CAN be answered by Wargaming, I still do not get a response. Wargaming NA will work very hard and labor long to answer your questions so you can post them - FEW of those responses are relevant to the issues at hand. I understand there are questions that are hard to answer for WGNA employees, but failing to communicate whatsoever sends a bad message.   Example: The NA Server missed at least 2 weekends of training/retraining discounts prior to this last weekend.  Since I have been here (year), Wargaming has never announced a weekend thing ON A SATURDAY.  They always announce stuff either Thursday or at the latest on Friday and sometimes in Meathead's videos.  We knew about a potential discount because ALL of the other servers announced it beforehand.  What is up with that?  There were 3-4 posts about this before we got the discount, yet no one chimed in with "Be patient" or "It's coming" or ANYTHING.  Really?   Normal Cycle of Wargaming NA Communication:  "Hey guys, come meet our new Forum employee." Then, new WG Forum guy starts off with his normal exuberance posting a bunch.  Then the Forum followers start hitting him with questions, etc.  Wargaming RU tells NA employees to tone it down and stop communicating.  We then get NO new information, just some clarification on mistakes and other issues.   Cycle restarts every few months.     However, I am glad that we get something more on Reddit and want to thank you for your efforts to provide us with that information.  Reddit is also the only place where we see Wargaming apologize for errors.  I really appreciate those posts too.

DomoSapien:   Not quite accurate. Nobody told us to stop posting - the fact of the matter is that either A) you guys ask us questions that we don't have the answer to, or more likely B) our recent workloads prevent us from being as active on the forums as we'd like to.
I don't get notifications when someone quotes me or replies to my threads unless I manually click 'notify me about activity in this thread' and we do have job functions outside of forum engagement - If you ever have concerns about your questions not being answered, please feel free to send us a PM. We get notifications for PM's and even when I am absolutely slammed with tournament inquiries, I respond to PMs within a day or two of receiving them at the absolute latest.

If you've got questions about tournaments or competitive play: PM me and Jambijon.
If you've got questions about anything related to Community Contributors: PM me or Tragicloss If you've got questions about contests, technical issues, event dates: PM KRZYBooP
If you don't know who to PM, tag all of us as participants in the private message.
If you want M60 Codes, PM MeatheadMilitia

As I recall, a few years ago they ran twice daily 3v3 tournaments morning and afternoon. I think the brackets were 4 or 6 teams with a modest prize of 750 gold for winners.
Tiers would change daily. Anywhere from 1s to 8s if memory serves.
This gave opportunities to new and veteran
players to make some easy gold and get competitive experience.
I know the NA staff are still working on getting up and running but this could be a future feature.
Thanks and keep up the good work.

DomoSapien:   We are certainly working to ramp up our tournament schedule, but something to keep in mind is that we no longer have a dedicated eSports department - it is now an initiative of the Community Department and while I understand that you'd like to see more tournaments each week, at this time we're doing the best we can to make sure all the weekend tournaments run (relatively) smoothly.

Silver lining here is that we have slowly been getting more tools and features added to our tournament system, which should help us automate some of the more tedious tasks involved with tournament operations. (To give you an example, every tournament payout involves quite a bit of work in Excel and on our backend)

I think this is also a good time to mention how absolutely amazing our tournament players have been despite the occasional tournament issues as we get familiar with the various quirks and idiosyncrasies of our tournament system. The community's overwhelming support definitely helps us keep going when the going gets tough. The amount of awesome, supportive PMs and comments we get from tournament players who are just downright excited that they're able to participate in tournaments again definitely outweighs how stressful running them can be at times.
