other league where they have two divisions is the Gold League
where things are already vastly different from Open/Bronze/Silver.
It would stand to reason that they should do that for each
division, because in past seasons of the open league there has only
been one grouping of teams which meant there were less teams
overall going into playoffs. In past seasons you would be fighting
with 9 other teams in the playoffs for a total of 10 teams in the
playoffs. This season there will be a total of 24 team in the
playoffs. That means overall there are more teams fighting it out
for the same gold prize as previous seasons. The whole
division thing has been weird from the start.

I expect this includes the new WG Stream ? Please see my post in Open League forums; WG Stream RE League
Captain_Judo: The additional division was added to accommodate more
players based on interest in this season's qualifiers. But both
divisions make up a single Open League. Payouts are based on final
standing in the playoffs which will see the top 12 teams from each
division. This also ensures prizing for the best teams in case one
division was hypothetically weaker than the other.

Captain_Judo: We're revisiting this specifically for the WG Stream mod.
Until announced otherwise, go by the written WGLNA league rule.
