Why is it okay for a VI tank to play with VIII's?

Falathi: Guys, if I may I`ll add my few bits, both as a CM but also as a player who faced tons of tier VIIIs in tier VI battles, and many +2MM battles, not to mention the old +3MM.  For me, the +2 MM has always been a part of the game - you may like it, you may hate it but it`s been there and it wouldn`t disappear. 
Initially, I disliked it, especially as I could land as one of the few tier VI in a high tier game, with little room to maneuver or do anything. Sure, much depends here on the class - a TVI TD usually still could do something against higher tiers, and there was an additional benefit of more XP and, potentially, more HP to damage, for greater profit.  It has changed some time ago with the MM formats and since then it`s not been much of a problem. I mean, if you landed in +2 battle you were facing just 3 tier VIII anyway. Not a big deal to avoid them, or not to face them. Again, much depends here on the class of the vehicle and whether these TVIII are your counterparts or not ( for example: if you are a TVI scout then a T VIII LT might be a problem for you. A T VIII SPG or HT - not so much though ). 
That being said - in most scenarios I do not have any issue facing T VIII, as long as they are not a direct counterpart of my vehicle and I`m not forced to face them directly. I mean situations like when it turns out that one flank is abandoned, or can collapse and the only thing I can do to try to avoid defeat is actually to try to kill that enemy tier VIII. 
However, such situations are not all that very common. In many cases, these higher tiers are not an issue. Sure, you have to watch out for them and know what you`re doing but in many cases there`s no need to panic - as long as you either avoid them, or know how to deal with them. 

Lastly - from my personal experience some vehicles are pretty much indifferent to higher tiers as they can deal with them easily. Such vehicles in my own experience include M 18 Hellcat, Dicker Max, VK 30.02 ( the Panther prototype ), all Shermans with the 17pdr, Pudel, VK 28.01 - although in the case of this last one much depends on what scouts does the enemy have.
