There was time, long ago, when premium shells could be obtained ONLY for gold. If you paid or played CW well enough, you could use them. If you did not pay, you simply couldn`t use them. Now this is not the case for quite some time and you are given choice - if you want, you can pay. If you want, you can use premium ammo. IF.
Also, I have to notice that there are quite few vehicles in game that never really relied on armour in the first place. In any case, thanks for your feedback!
