lord_farquad: For all those wondering, we haven't forgotten about those who are
tied for wild cards. Due to some issues with the battle results not
having been posted it will take us some time to ensure those teams
get the propper amount of points, this unfortunately means that
those matches will be delayed.
A news article will be published soon, unfortunately I have not had internet access today and I apologize for not communicating the information to everyone sooner.

lord_farquad: I just noticed this topic and thought I'd add my 2 cents. As others
have mentioned I did run something similar that was quite
successful (we ended up getting several hundred people involved),
unfortunately I started it right before I joined Wargaming, and as
others have also mentioned, I was no longer able to continue the
program due to time constraints.
That said I am excited about any program that seeks to accomplish the same goals! If those organizing the program would like any suggestions and perhaps some help with publicity, please feel free to contact me through PM!

Hypnotik:
I wasn't watching the livestream, I was leading the fight. So no, I didn't see the packet loss as soon as the match started, we knew of it only when they mentioned it, after all hope was already lost for them. We knew they had issues earlier, but they had told us all was sorted out, why would I expect or have any reason to believe otherwise? To us, it looked like defensive play after their Pershing was knocked out and other heavies were taking fire until the issue was brought forth.
If they had said something sooner, like before we had worked them over, I would have said OK to a re-do. But after we had a very clear lead - no.
I wouldn't be opposed to a scrim against SIMP in the future, if we could work out a time that was good for all of us.
Edit: Pershing, not T34.

The team members whom have signed up cannot leave the team, and I cannot delete them. Further I cannot fold the team to form a new one.
If this problem is not fixed real soon none of us will be able to participate.
Yes I have contacted the tech people, yesterday and today, and have gotten nothing back from them and we still can do nothing.
Some help would be appreciated.

lord_farquad: This is precisely why in the registration page it states as
follows:
"Please keep all team names alpha-numeric. Characters such as "?, %, @, ^, etc" may cause issues with your team, and prevent you from being able to participate in the tournament."
As such we will delete your team to allow you to reform it as we are also unable to access it when this occurs.

I think NDP was the only team to dominate them so far, a 7-1 (and that was a T1 light) victory, on Mines of all maps.

Oh, I guess SSGS won too, but I know both sides wanted a fair fight, it just didn't happen with the E3 internet outage.

Hypnotik: SSGS did dominate them. At the time they claimed to be having
issues, we had already killed their T34 and T29, their IS3 was at
95 HP (their 13/90 nearby) with a Lorraine and Type 59 on
it. There was a T29 already getting in position on their
50-2. This left only their T2 LT and Chaffee untaken. A T29, T59,
Lorraine, 50 100 could easily dominate those two tanks. SIMP got
crushed - they and WG can use all the excuses they want, but it
wasn't close. They had no real guns left to take out the remaining
force.
Even if they had a perfect connection, it was nowhere near a close match. They had all advantages (side choice, they were able to do last changes, and they controlled when it started), but they chose a bad line up and strat to counter ours.
I like SIMP, and I respect their play (they really are good tankers), but there was no way they were even close to a win on this one.

With the exception of our stuck Tetrarch driver and ammo racked IS3 =). For the record as you mentioned it a few times all of Grumpy Old Men are NZ/AUS players like the Whirlpool guys and it wasn't 3am here during the event more like 8-9am Aus and 10-11am NZ.

I know you guys are each looking at one side of the battle, but it isn't always clear which team you are talking about. Do you control which screen is displayed or is that done by someone else? If you can control it and limit how many times you switch then it would make it easier for the audience (esp. those who are being introduced to the game) to follow along. Perhaps that is a difference between watching it live and online. The replay I saw of the first match today (Wed) on the arctic map on twitch.com featured less 'jumping' than I remember seeing in the Tuesday streams. It would also be nice if the display would show which team was being shown. This might require a mod (like the one that you've made to hide the chat). Long term, it would be nice to have a view that shows both sides of the battle--either side by side or together in the same screen. If on the same screen, then some mechanism to show if they unit is visible to the other team would be needed. Thanks, Bruce

lord_farquad: Thanks for the feedback. We actually requested a delay, and for
some reason it was not implemented, so we ended up finding someone
from Twitch and bringing them to our booth to ensure we had a
delay... which is now active.
As I have mentioned before, we'reboth sorry if we misrepresented your team, we were going off of what we have heard, and obviously guessing some. Thank you for clarifying.

lord_farquad: There is actually a different team controlling which feed is
currently being displayed, and neither myself nor nagatron can
actually see what's being displayed. This is something we have
noted to change in the future, as you have pointed out it would be
much easier for us to know what you are all seeing and comment on
that if we had a monitor showing us what you are seeing.
We also intend to have overlays displaying each team in the future.
Thank you everyone for the feedback, please feel free to give us more! We are doing the best with what we have, but we know there is always room for improvement. I believe next time will be even better as we have learned a lot from this experience.
