What was wrong with the old Twitter contest format?  It even had a timed schedule so you knew when to be online to participate.  This thing basically awards those that sit online all day and be one of the first five to twitch in an answer.

design explanation
this is a mock-VIP mode, the VIP (maus) is a valuable asset but must be used carefully. He is immune to all tanks but the artillery, but every artillery on the enemy team will be looking for him.
the job of the light tanks is to spot the Maus and artillery, and to prevent other lights from doing the same through ramming or shooting.
T6 mediums tanks are to screen the Maus's advance, or hunt down enemy Light tanks. alternatively, they could be used to split push.
The team will have to make a decision about how much artillery to bring, as only they and the friendly maus can stop the enemy maus. too much arty means less lights and meds, and a higher chance of your arty being spotted. not enough means the maus can run rampant.
I chose T6 for mediums and artillery because there is the most variance in both types at T6. The 3601 can act as a pocket heavy and threaten other meds, the M4A3E8 is the best at hunting lights, and the 34-85 is the all-rounder with it's new engine and gun.
As for artillery, teams will choose between S51/SU14 for maus-killing power, GW-Panther for flexibility, or Lorraine 155/50 for relocating to hit tanks in cover, but less damaging hits.
Steppes encounter   - there is little artillery cover on the eastern side of the map where the Capture point is, sending your maus there risks it being killed, not doing so means your meds and lights can not contest the cap.
  -both sides have many points for hiding their artillery, behind the railroad tracks and the western rocks on the north, and the overlook and multiple "coves" for south.
  -lights may try for an early spot, but must cross the field to do so under heavy fire.
Murovanka encounter - both sides have forest for hiding their artillery, and multiple locations to do so.
- no arty cover near spawn, so the maus can not just camp to ensure survivial
-buildings in town and near spawn provide arty cover for maus, but they are destructible so only temporary cover is provided (this keeps the game dynamic), alternatively, lights and meds can shoot the buildings to expose maus for artillery.
-town provides lots of arty cover, and close combat, but everything is destructible, so over the course of the game, the town will be flattened, teams might fight or the center indestructible church as a strong point.
  
Both maps are fairly open, feature uneven terrain for light tanks to avoid fire, and have multiple routes into arty areas. The capture points are not very safe for maus, but having it there will make clearing the position much easier.

Tournament Name: Skirmish - M4 Civil War
Format: 7 vs. 7
Winning Team: First team to 3 victories (best of 5)
Tier/Type Limits: heavy/medium/artillery of M4 chassis (Tiers 4/5/6; details below)

Description: The tournament is set up as a standoff between the best of the M4 chassis.  I decided on the "M4 Civil War" name as it made me think of the "brother fighting brother" reality during the US Civil War when families were regionally separated during that conflict.   Being limited to tiers 5 & 6 keep it very accessible to a broad player base.  The tier 5 and 6 mediums selected are no-brainers as far as utilizing the M4 Sherman architecture, but I wanted to spice up the game play with the M7 Priest to add a bit more strategy to the fight (though originally on the M3 chassis, the M7 Priest did utilize the M4 in its life-cycle after issues using the M3 chassis, so it is consistent with my setup).  The T14 is the only allowable heavy, as it is the up-armored variant of the M4 Sherman (and I'm "allowing this" as it was a joint British and US project; importance is on the chassis).  This will be a quick-paced battle, and each version of the M4 will need to be utilized to its individual strengths.  For map selection, it made sense to utilize a US themed map, and highway is the newest of the collection, with its open fields and terrain variations making this a very exciting battle.

Captain_Judo: I remember this idea and, for what it's worth, it was considered further, among many others. Keep in mind that there were well over 1,000 submissions ;)

64 teams max, first come first serve, so as to fit the Skirmish timeslot.
Tanks used must be identical. So if one person uses an M4A3E8, his partner must also use an M4A3E8. Modules and crews can be different, of course, but the tank model itself must be the same. Tanks do not have to be the same from one round to the next. So if you play a pair of M18 Hellcats one round, you may switch to SU100s in the next, so long as both players use the same vehicles per round.
#4 Lowercore
1)  teams draft tanks to use for the matches, and each tank is unique and can only be chosen once. So if team1 had first tank choice and took say a t-50-2, that tank would not be able to be chosen by team2, and team1 could field 1 t-50-2 on their team ( no multiples of chosen tanks can be used as each tank is unique ). Team2 would select the next 2 tanks... say batchat25t and T110e5, and now team2 could field one of each of those tanks and team1 would not be able to use them at all. Team1 would chose 2 tanks next and repeat this process until the roster is filled out for the match.
The only problem is I don't think this draft style of match is possible with the current game client, as the automated tournament tool doesnt allow teams to assemble before the match. The only way to run it would be to run the entire tournament through training matches and that might not be logistically possible. My solution to this is to just make each tank unique and either team can field only 1 of any designated tank. Tanks would not be limited to only 1 in a battle, but each team could only field 1 of any given tank. For points and tier I prefer mid tier and low points as to promote teams to chose between how many tank they will max tier with and still field the required amount of players.
• Skirmish XIV or ( Drafted Challenge/Skirmish )
• Format: ( 7 vs 7)
• Tier Limits (if any): max tier 7
• Points Limits (if any): max points 37, -1pt per player less than 7
• Map: Cliff
• Other requirements: Only 1 tank of any designation can be used by the same team, no duplicates.
Example roster: t29, kv3, t20, kv-13, hummel, t2light, tetrarch = 7+7+7+7+5+2+2= 37pts
#5 In Game Name : Dinghus Tournament Name : Tier Down
Format : 10 vs 10 (this could be changed)
Tiers Limits :
Round 1 : Only Tier 10
Round 2 : Only Tier 8
Round 3 : Only Tier 6
Round 4 : Only Tier 4
Round 5 : Only Tier 2
Round 6 : Only Tier 1
This could be reversed and have a “Tier Up” (get the pun?) starting with Tier 1s with the final being Tier 10
Points limit:
Round 1 : 100
Round 2 : 80
Round 3 : 60
Round 4 : 40
Round 5 : 20
Round 6 : 10
Map :  Highway (actually I think having different maps suited for the tier level each round would be great)
Other Requirements :
Obviously the first round and the last round would have no arty.
3 out of 5 to win.

• Format:10 vs 10
• Tier Limits: none
• Map: random
• Other requirements:
o Each team must have one tank from each tier 1-10
o Each team must consist of tanks from the same nation    
#7 Ingame name: VarecTournament name: Royal Escort

Format 5 vs 5
Tier Limits: 4 tier 5 tanks and 1 tier 8 tank.
Points Limits: none
Map: Murovanka or Steppes (in encounter mode if possible).
Other requirements:
- no TDs or SPGs allowed.
- only 1 heavy tank allowed per team.
Notes: Encounter mode is needed to prevent long battles and to force players to engage each other.

Team must be only one line of the tech tree   (American heavy line, German medium line etc.)
Vehicles can be subbed in for others (M4 subbed for M7, KV-13 subbed for T-43, VK 3002 subbed for Panther etc.)
#9 Name: Stefal Tournament name:  Artillery Encounter.
Format:  7 vs 7.
Tier limits:  Artillery, all tiers.
Map:  Serene Coast.
Other requirements:  Each team can only use one artillery piece from each tier.
#10 Denron Tournament name: Tier Wars
• Format (5 vs 5, 7vs 7): Number of players is determined by the tier your team picks
• Tier Limits (if any): Everyone on the team must be in the same tier vehicle
• Points Limits (if any): none
• Map: Redshire
• Other requirements: A team may field up to ten players.  If they use tier 1 tanks, they keep all 10 players.  For each tier they go up, they loss one player.
• Tier 1: 10 players
• Tier 2: 9 players
• Tier 3: 8 players
• Tier 4: 7 players
• Tier 5: 6 players
• Tier 6: 5 players
• Tier 7: 4 players
• Tier 8: 3 players
• Tier 9: 2 players
• Tier 10: 1 player
• What tier will win? Can 1 Tier 10 take out a swarm of Tier 1 before they cap?
• Teams may change tiers throughout their fights, but must adhere to the limits of each tier.
