MrVic: One thing I debated is the T32 had a few revisions late before it officially was stopped. T32E1 had improved fire control systems, and overall improvements in a few areas. Also it had a some good improvements designed but not completed on a prototype. It might work with some of those improvements in the Tier 9 position. Tho the minor armor boost it had planned might be needed for that. (Tho testing on it would need to be done)
Also with very hard to find records on the T26E5 in regards to hard data, The T26E5 might serve better in a tier 8 position. Which would put it in a better position to link to the Pershing. Eagerly awaiting the mail as finally some information requests on it should be to me in the next week or so! Probably will see some adjustments after that time.

View PostKurt_Knispel, on 19 December 2010 - 04:20 PM, said: Yes, the M103 is not an actual improvement in raw armor value BUT you have to remember this game engine does factor in slope. The T29/T30 design is relatively slab-sided. The IS-7 is actually not that heavily armored either, but because it's layout is more advanced when you hit it from almost any angle you're hitting a pretty drastic slope. This is why I've been pushing for the M103 since way back in the RCBT. Comparing raw numbers will not balance the game. Also the fact that I have reason to believe Conqueror will be the pinnacle of the UK tree makes the M103's absence all the more confusing.

MrVic: Yeah the slopes and respectable armor will give it a fighting chance. Plus it has good speed and mobility.
Calculating effective due to slopes you get pretty close to the following.
Slopes all provide a good deflection surface :)
Upper Front Effective 150mm
Lower Front Effective 143mm
Side Effective 80mm
Rear Effective 76mm
Turret Gun Shield Effective 250mm to 143mm
Turret Front Effective 170mm
Turret side Effective 190mm to 212mm
Turret Rear Effective 80mm

MrVic: Yeah like I said its a possibility but more worried on getting the tanks added over flow of the tech tree. The parrallel remark was they were started at the same time and were shooting for the same goal, but very separate projects. Overall its possible we'll see. Also keep in mind the 4502 Aus A and 4502 Aus B are Tier 8 and Tier 9 not parrallel :)

Tanitha: The servers used to handle about 8500 players, then they would drop games to garage. Now they hold 11,000+ players, and the Russian servers hold up to 35,000 players. (About)..
Our servers are due to be upgraded to handle 60k players each shortly. And since the servers are splitting into usa/europe, thats 2 60k servers or 120k players online at once.
This is a huge increase compared to the 11k that they hold now.
So to answer your question.

Tanitha: Hi Aiden.
Kaspersky is a decent virus scanner because it blanket checks and prevents anything that remotely looks like a virus.
But that however is the reason that its also not a very good virus scanner, its a pain in the backside, and interferes with things that aren't viruses.
I suggest you replace it though instead of just switching it off.

View Postjcqc96, on 19 December 2010 - 03:37 AM, said: Okay. Well, I do like the Pershing T32 link Idea (The T32 was actually...the T26E5,right?)
P.S. Let's stop debating Pzgrenkdr. I'm not gonna complain anymore, mate. Let's just help make WoT a better game.
EDIT: oops...kinda rephrased Pzgren's idea

MrVic: The T32 and the T26E5 were actually both separate tanks. Both were started as parallel projects with the goal of building a heavier armored tank.
As the standard M26 (without additional plating) did not have sufficient protection from the Tiger II. One project T32 went with a larger tank, up armored
front with a better slope and a new heavy turret design, and a improved engine. The other was the T26E5 which was to replace the plated armored M26.
The armor for the T26E5 was drastically increased and it was up gunned to 105mm and the 90mm L73. Also it had an improved transmission and was regeared
at a lower end granting a higher torque, this was to compensate for the weight increase. The tank was slow but rather mobile, also it packed a punch.
The project ended classified as a Medium and was never produced past prototypes.
Basically the Super Pershing was the up gunned improved transmission/engine M26. The other versions were the M26 with added plate armor and standard and up gunned variations. The Heavy Super Pershing was the ending of the T26E5.

I know the effect of fixed and multi-piece amo, but like i said, the T15E2 ingame have a high RoF.
Come on jcqc96, you know me from BK, i know how weapons work and i`am only against Super-Pershing as T9 tank.
@MrVic: could you give a statement why the Super-Pershing shouldn´t be T8 and as link between Pershing and T32(like the VK3001H)?

MrVic: Mainly the issue I see with that is permitting a parallel move at tier 8 probably would not make progression through the tree very fluid. Tier 8 tends to be the top end of championship and some battle setups. So making a move between the 2 could be bad. Tho with a hefty exp cost it could be plausible.
As for the history side of things. The T32 shared many components with the M26 road wheels basic hull design ect. But as the hull was lengthened and the frontal hull up armored and redesigned and a new turret design the lineage between the 2 exists but is not as pronounced as it would be with a Super Pershing or the Heavy Super Pershing.
Tho not saying it not possible. But I left out links like that due to Tier 8 and above links so far being limited to the same tank class trees.
Also shared parts does not alway lead to a link between trees but does offer a historical reason to provide a link if it fits progression or tech tree flow.
Couple examples. M24 Chaffee, M37 (same hull as the M24) , M41 (Same hull as the M24) Priest was based off the M3 Lee/Grant Hull. One thing the US did alot was made many variations off of base hulls or reinvented them for other roles when they were nearing obsolete.
But the idea is good if it would work out for the flow of things.
For reference Picture of a T32, The pershing was much smaller and only had 6 road wheels, The T32 used a redesigned M26 hull and enlarged for 7 road wheels.

Right now it encourages people to wait until somebody else brings the enemy tank down to 5%, then peek out of their hideout and finish him off, which hurts team play.
I'm new to this forum, is there a way to present this to the developers?

MrVic: Actually the added plates were retro fitted and plates cut and attached at the production plant. The panther glacias was one of the versions(tho was a theater change). Cut plates were also used. The addition of the plating was overseen by eng and standard plating was designed and improved and applied.
It wasn't pretty but was a approved design change.
The improved plating brought it's armor on the hull much higher the the t32 turret slightly less then t32. Also the overall size was much smaller then the t32. Until you scale compare them it's hard to see
Also their are a number of 90mm versions tested and a few combat tested

Number of active users already in decline, sure it will go up again in open beta but if the development and PR standards stay like this the games only achievement will be to make APB look good.

Number of active users is growing actually, not fast, but still growing. Since we don't have enough server capacity both in EU and NA, there is no urgent need in active PR and advertisement camapaign.

YMMV, this is why I choose NOT to go into software development.

The T44 is a nice medium. But there is T9 mediums out soon anyway.
So I dont know how good the new T9's are and how they compare.
How the T9's are, would effect what tier 8 I go for.
But anyway now warping is fixed, mediums and even lights are pretty easy to lead... and shoot. So the speed of the T44 is pretty worthless now.
So i prefer the heavies to the mediums at the moment, Like the IS series.

Is it going up, down, by how much? That is what people are looking for.
Thanks

Overlord: It is going to be decreased mostly.
E.g.
Т32: 90mm_Gun_T15E2 - 54->43, 105mm_Gun_T5E1 - 43->38.
Т34: 90mm_Gun_T15E2 - 48->34, 105mm_Gun_T5E1 - 40->30, 120mm_Gun_T53 - 34->26.

Anyway, haven't seen anything about this, so I'll ask; are the chat rules going to be the same for the european version? Like mods in the general chat for example that enforce the speaking of english... if not it might be tempting for me to stick with the US version as I don't want to be stuck with german/french/etc people.

Tanitha: I have no idea sorry, perhaps you should ask in the devs questions section.
Its a decent question.

MrVic: Yeah it will be one version of the super pershing. There are 3 variations of the super pershing. Since its designation was not offically changed through most of its changes they are hard to pick out. But the basic 2 are the up armored and up gunned pershing (heavy) then the up engined up gunned pershing (medium) the medium came after the heavy variant.
